What does the future look like for Hidden Arcade?

ːluvː Heyo! I wanted to talk a bit about the future of the game! ːLIS_pixel_heartː

We're very excited that the launch of the game went so incredibly well! We're overwhelmed by the positive feedback and have decided that it is most definitely worth it to put more time and effort into the game! Thank you very much to anyone who has played the game, or even reviewed it, or even created a custom level!

How about updates and patches?

First off, I am very engaged and dedicated to providing updates and patches to any issues that might still exist! My goal is to put out one update / patch a week. The only issue I am currently aware of seems to be that sometimes, the Steam Workshop back-end for uploading and downloading user created levels acts up, and as this has already been a major focus in past updates, it will continue to be in future ones so that it works on any machine, with any internet speed! The reason for this is that it is the hardest feature to test for how it is going to be for others. There are only so many simulated conditions I can create (smurf Steam account, throttle Upload / Download speed), and beyond that, it is up to see what people experience. But I also want you to know that currently, your created levels are safe! Even if you cannot upload them, you can save them locally and upload them later.

How do you go on now?

Since the game is free, I sadly had to think of some kind of method to generate a little bit of money to justify further development. BUT - I wanted it to be very non-intrusive and light, so that everyone can access the full game without having to pay anything. So, what I came up with for now is that there is an extended ultimate Soundtrack that you can get for a buck, and it has about 20 minutes of songs from both the games in our Ghostly Arcade franchise, extended, mixed for your enjoyment, and it even has one track that is currently unreleased.

Additionally, you can get a bundle of the Soundtrack as well as Haunted Arcade for LESS MONEY THAN HAUNTED ARCADE ON ITS OWN. THat's right. Time for aggressive marketing xd

How about more content in the future?

Good news! My partner and I have been looking at the reception, considering our options, and she has decided that she would like to make more art for the other Arcade Games! So you can expect a DLC in the future containing Levels for Laser Bike, Robot Time, Defenders of Plushville and Sheepy Runs! This content will guaranteed be available within the coming 2 and a half months, as it is also very light on coding, and also, after that, the next semester starts again.
