Hero's Hour 2 changes
WELCOME TO HERO’S HOUR 2.
The original Hero’s Hour was a unique take on the turn-based strategy formula, introducing real-time combat for faster paced turns and bringing a modern design philosophy to a beloved genre. A solo dev project that started from nothing, it was met with overwhelming interest and excitement. Now, the phenomenon is back with a vengeance in Hero’s Hour 2.
Check out the trailer:
Hero’s Hour 2 seeks to deliver strategic planning and dynamic synergies woven through your heroes, your towns, and the armies that you grow throughout the game. With a larger team, we can bring a new evolution to the series – one that’s cleaned up and improved, but still with the same indie uniqueness. Depth, charm, and chaos.
The sequel is forged by UnleashTheGiraffe, Lautaro Ariño and me, Benjamin “ThingOnItsOwn” Hauer. You’ll recognise Lau from the first game’s soundtrack, while you may know UnleashTheGiraffe from their whimsical, strategic games like Seer’s Gambit and Obsidian Prince. The whole shebang is being supported by Hooded Horse, a titan among indie publishers.
We’re so happy we’re finally at the point of development where we can start letting the community in on it. One of the strengths of the original Hero’s Hour was how it bridged its community and its development into a collaborative effort. Keeping the sequel a secret has been torturous. Now that the silence is over, we want to empower the community so the community can in turn empower us.
We want your feedback during the day-to-day development process, and we’re staying flexible in our development goals so that feedback can shift what we do. But for right now, our vision for Hero’s Hour 2 is clear:
More visceral battles with larger units and sense of scale
Clearer vision and control of battles
Game design refined from the lessons of the first game
A more beautiful and more immersive world
User interface and user experience focused on charm and usability
Better opponents
Well, development is calling. It goes in spurts and starts, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. We’ll bring you along for the ride as much as we can. It’s the least we could do as thanks for your support of the original game. We hope to surpass your expectations with this next one!
