The Tale of Ravenwood

Deep within Darkwood, where the light thins and the trees grow twisted, lies a blighted hollow known as Ravenwood. Once merely a hidden canopy of blackened boughs, it has long since become a place of whispered dread. There dwell the crow cultists - creatures of malice and cunning - devotees of forbidden rites and corrupters of flesh and soul.

For generations, the crows of Ravenwood sought to create demons in their own likeness, hoping to birth living avatars of their dark faith. Most of these attempts ended in failure: warped husks, mindless horrors, or lifeless remains left to rot beneath the trees.

But at last, they succeeded.

From demon essence and crow sorcery they forged Velthar - a towering abomination, bear-shaped yet crowned with a cruel beak and twisted horns. Bound by dark magic, Velthar is not only strong and savage, but cunning enough to be controlled… and unleashed.

Should the rituals of Ravenwood be completed, the beast will be driven from the forest and set loose upon the surrounding lands - its path leading straight toward Pickens.

To slay Velthar is to shatter the crow-folk's greatest creation. If the beast falls within Ravenwood, their ambition dies with it - and the woods may yet be spared from a far greater horror.
