Thanks to all the player feedback, we have listened and done a significant rework to the Darkness mechanic.

With the released changes, the Nameless Abyss boss fight doesn't appear automatically after you make the number of required kills. Instead, you receive a Burden currency that allows you to start a Ritual at specific spots in the game world.

Once you start a ritual, you spend one point of the Burden currency and you get to choose one benefit at the cost of two detriments. The important thing here is that both the benefit and the detriment don't affect a specific item, rather they're applied to one of the relevant stats of your player character. That way, instead of getting stuck with a cursed item, you can regularly switch any of your items with the subsequent drops you get from defeating the enemies.

At this point, the Darkness fight against the Nameless Abyss is removed from the game. We'll see how we can incorporate this mechanic in the future, so we'd like to invite you to offer suggestions on how to proceed further with this.

That's it for now, we hope you'll like this change. Regardless of whether you like it or not, we would really like to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
