We’ve just infused Hear My Cult with a new layer of cursed complexity— Anathemas —a system born from the darkest branches of your roguelite path. These aren’t just debuffs. They’re rituals in reverse. They mark you. They change you.

Let’s descend:

• Anathemas: The Curse is a Choice

Every map node is now a gamble.

Anathema nodes offer rare rewards—but at a price. Step in, and you’ll inherit powerful curses that twist your run in brutal, unexpected ways.

Each Anathema is:

  • A unique, permanent modifier that haunts your character until the end of the run.

  • Tied to a forgotten ritual—part lore, part gameplay mutation.

  • Stored in your Artifacts tab, where it festers... and waits.

Examples include:

  • The Glass Veil – Your max health is halved, but your critical hits are doubled.

  • Echo of Hunger – You can't summon Minions, but your auto-attacks summon special Undeads.

  • Ska’lahr Nightmare – You can't Sacrifice Minions, but enemy damage has a chance to forcefully sacrifice a random Minion.

Choose wisely—or don’t. Some power was never meant to be controlled.

• UX/UI & Performance Improvements

The code gets cleaner, the madness smoother:

  • Faster load times and optimized transitions across key scenes.

  • Tooltip clarity improvements in the Ability and Curse menus.

  • Bugfixes for certain abilities not triggering post-cast when cursed.

  • Preparations for Steam Deck support are underway (yes, really).
