This patch has been a long time coming, we just could not stop adding stuff to it. The wait until the next patch, which will focus on adding mouse only & keyboard only controls, will not be as long.
Woodland update
We've given woodland a visual update, making all biomes more distinguishable as well as assigning a featured event to the 3 regular biomes where Merchants only spawn in the Rocky Plains, golems only spawn in Flower Fields and cauldrons only spawn in Pine Barrens. All rare events also got their own biomes making them stand out more.
Backpack
Players have been asking for a backpack since forever but we've been hesitant, making tough decisions with your limited inventory space is a core mechanic of the game which we like. We don't want players hoarding every item but we also understand it can feel bad to constantly throw away items.
This patch adds 1 non-combat backpack slot (2 if you upgrade it with the Shepherd event!). This still keeps most of the hard prioritization intact while adding an avenue for future planning. The slot can be used to store a rare item from a merchant you intend to use later, temporarily swap out an item countered by the next boss or simply store components for golem or cauldron.
Weapon Modifications
A new weapon type that is acquired like an itemset. Each modification has two different weapons as their components and are unlocked by equipping the weapons one after the other, in any order. So to get Weapon Mod C you could equip:
Weapon A -> Weapon B = Weapon Mod C
Weapon B -> Weapon A = Weapon Mod C

New woodland event: Lost Child - Help her to get a mythic item
New swampland event: Golden Pig - Catch him to get a gold boon
New woodland & swampland event: Beekeeper - Sells honey items
New woodland & swampland event: Hammer Smith - Sells more banishes
Reworked woodland & swampland event: Wishing well - Now it grants upgrades to other events for the rest of the run
New event for all areas: Shepherd - Upgrades your backpack
New kingmaker event: Doomsayer - Lets you reroll a non-champion opponent
Misc:
Increased the odds of finding rare events in the crystal ball
Previously 1 woodland miniboss was present during each run, now all 3 are spawned in
Items can be freely moved to any itemslot (including empty ones)
Removed broken bridges
Muscle potion moved to Swampland Red kingmaker bundle
Sangune morphosis + Vampires tooth triggers correctly
Clearspring spirit very hard item changed from sinful mirror to clearspring opal
Woodland Abomination 0 base attack -> 2 base attack
Changed Blackrock Battlefields target event from Weapon Pile to Forge in Kingmaker
Scrying pools gives 2 options instead of 1
Cursor snaps to events in map mode
Map mode control is a toggle instead of hold
Waypoint display biome names
Weapon piles now only gives rare or heroic weapons
Potions and their elixir upgrades are considered the same item. Meaning duplicates of non-common versions cannot drop and both versions works for fullfilling set bonuses
Stuns gotten in between strikes now apply directly instead of buffering until next turn
Added anvils & racoons to junksmith biome in kingmaker
Using an anvil after adding a second edge with junksmith only replaces the previous anvil edge, the junksmith edge stays intact
Swapped the rewards in the bosslist for beating a boss on hard & very hard. Hard now gives the lore and very hard gives amount of wins. Both now require 1 victory against that boss on that difficulty to unlock
Removed brittlebark bow from brittle bark blessing set
