Repeated intro

changedI’ll talk about #1 another time, but for now, I just wanted to highlight enemy variety in my game. My goal is to launch with around ~200 base monsters; each with their own little unique ability or damage design. Enemy variety is crucial in my opinion for a game to have some longevity and to keep combat enjoyable.
changedOh, and by the way… someone asked me if Havoc Heirs would be Steam Deck compatible? Well I went ahead and purchased the cheapest Deck and can confirm it’s running beautifully at 60 FPS with a native Linux build (and the appropriate controller glyphs).

So currently I have 140+ monsters finished for Havoc Heirs! When I posted the trailer for the game in August 2025 I only had around ~50 done. Pretty much every day since has been waking up, drawing, animating, and then programming a little creature you’re going to be fighting soon.

Havoc Heirs is a turn-based sorta RPG sorta Roguelite (sorta dungeon crawler?). All that will make sense eventually. And in my opinion, the backbone of any good game from the above genres are #1 choices you make and #2 fun battles.

I’ll check back in soon once I have some more stuff to share. My plan is to release the game in 6-10 months so you won’t be waiting too long to play it. Thanks for reading!

I’ve already been optimizing the game a bit for Steam Deck, and I’m happy with the results. Havoc Heirs is designed around 4K where I feel my artwork looks best, but I do enjoy waking around my house and playtesting the game on my Deck.

Can't wait to show you more soon!
