It’s been quite a while since the last demo update, and I wanted to share what’s been happening behind the scenes. To be honest, this process has been an intense journey of late nights and endless cups of coffee. I’ve poured my heart and soul into making this game the best it can be, and your patience means the world to me.
Something New: Multiplayer is Here!
The biggest news? I’ve added a Multiplayer system! This was a completely new concept for me, and learning it from scratch was quite the mountain to climb. Since it’s my first time developing a multiplayer experience, your feedback will be more crucial than ever.
Refining the Vision
While looking at the previous demo, I felt the story and the core game loop were a bit scattered. I realized the game’s true heart lies in the tension between peaceful farming and eerie horror. To make this feel right, I’ve redesigned the game loop. The game now takes place in a mysterious forest where you’ll manage your farm while facing strange, unsettling events. I don’t want to give away too much. I’d rather you experience the secrets of the woods yourselves!
What Else is New?
Smoother Mechanics: Movement and interactions feel much more fluid.
Better UI/UX: A cleaner interface and more informative tutorials.
Visual & Performance Upgrades: I’ve pushed for more realistic environments, with a heavy focus on optimization.
Survival Together: Whether alone or with friends, you’ll spend your days farming and your nights fighting to survive.
A Difficult Decision Regarding Release
I also have some bittersweet news to share. I’ve had to make the difficult decision to delay the official release date. As a solo developer, I’m currently navigating some personal challenges, specifically the difficulties and financial pressures that come with being between jobs right now. This, combined with the sheer amount of work left to do (especially fine-tuning the multiplayer), means I need a few more months to deliver the quality you deserve. My commitment to finishing and releasing this game is absolute, and I'm doing everything I can to make it happen. If all goes well, I plan to give you another major update by this summer.
The Next Demo Update
However, the good news is that I’ll be updating the demo the week after Steam Next Fest, so you can jump in and try the new systems for free before Early Access launches!
Thank you for being part of this journey and for your incredible support. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the new update!
