What changed

0 fixes3 additions2 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
  • UI and audio
addedThis isn't a full rebuild — but it's the first step of a meaningful one. Environmental polish, new cutscenes, expanded dialogue. The goal is simple: give the player enough to care before they're asked to fight for it.
added🪨 NEW MODELS
addedThe Episode 1 rework brought new visual needs with it. A batch of new models has been built and integrated into the engine to support the updated environment. Sparta is filling in.
changed🖼️ RELATIONSHIP UI — SMALL BUT MEANINGFUL TOUCH
changedThe Relationship UI previously had three separate panels. This week I merged panels one and two into a single hybrid panel — cleaner, more intuitive, and paired with new UI elements that bring it closer to the visual standard the rest of the game is moving toward.

🏛️ EPISODE 1 — REBUILT WITH PURPOSE

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

This one was a hard decision to make — but the right one.

Harem of Valerius has deep lore. A world with history, characters with reasons to be where they are, secrets woven into every corner. But we weren't delivering that. Not in Episode 1. Players were dropping off early — and honestly, I understood why. The world didn't tell its story.

Who is Valerius? Why is he here? What is Theronesia hiding?

Those questions weren't being answered. The environment wasn't helping. The pacing wasn't carrying players through.

So I went back.

This isn't a full rebuild — but it's the first step of a meaningful one. Environmental polish, new cutscenes, expanded dialogue. The goal is simple: give the player enough to care before they're asked to fight for it.

What came out of it is noticeably better than what was there before. I'm confident about that.

📜 PARCHMENT MECHANIC — COMING THIS WEEK

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

As Valerius moves through the world, he'll find notes — scattered parchments that help him make sense of what's happening around him.

These aren't cutscene interruptions. They don't stop the action. They're quiet discoveries that slowly pull back the curtain on Theronesia and the secrets behind it.

I'm writing this mechanic this week. It's a small addition with a big job.

🪨 NEW MODELS

🖼️ RELATIONSHIP UI — SMALL BUT MEANINGFUL TOUCH

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Relationship UI previously had three separate panels. This week I merged panels one and two into a single hybrid panel — cleaner, more intuitive, and paired with new UI elements that bring it closer to the visual standard the rest of the game is moving toward.

I can't wait to show you the full thing in the next release.

More next week.
