Big strategic changes in the May patch for HamsterCraft.

UNIT LIMIT:

Before you could build as many units as you wanted as long as you had the cheese, but this made endless and long matches boring. Standard limit of units is 6, but this can be increased in different but difficult ways:

  • If you build a farmster hamster, your limit increases by +1 (selling it also takes away this increase.

  • Building a Seerster of Wrath will increase your limit by +2.

  • Buying an item called Forbidden Experiment lets you sacrifice a chosen unit to increase the limit by +1.

  • ome trinkets, (currently only one) lets you increase the unit limit by +1. Engineer Prodigy.

  • I'm still figuring out good ways to let the players increase their unit limit, but so far this feels good.

  • Seerster of Fortune is buffed. Every farm produces +10 more cheese and curio items may drop from enemies.

  • CURIO is a consumable item which you can give to one of your hamsters to increase one of your stats randomly.

Smaller Changes

  • "common" items (item level 15 and below) only have 2 stats. (was 3 previously)

  • soulcore has a unique effect (and sound effect) when you hold it on top of a unit.

  • units have an effect if you hold a consumable on them. (pots, demolish, etc)

  • breaking rocks has an effect now

  • you can see buffs on units when you inspect them. also how many curious they have.

  • unit radius no longer goes on top of the UI.

  • Corizzo at lvl 45 will shoot arrows accordingly now.

  • boomster bombs reworked. They still stack, but the bomb icon changes based on stack amount.

  • unit total damage now shows up as (25.1M) instead of (25,120,000)

  • legendary weapons are buffed. they can have up to 4 different stats.

  • Soullink boots now show the correct description for the currently equipped ability.

  • match history tweaks, now shows ENDLESS score on the match card.

ENDLESS:

As I mentioned, I've been tinkering with endless, trying to make it feel more challenging but fun. Items start dropping a lot less in later stages of the game after wave 80.

I've also added a fun stat to keep an eye on: "Item Drop Chance" in the ESC menu, so you know what kind of odds you have of getting an item.

legendary items only drop if you invest into Seerster of Military.

After wave 100 bosses no longer gain the affixes: SPAWN LITTER , SUMMON TROOPS. Which means it's more likely for the boss to destroy one of your hamsters or CC them instead.

Now since I've made unit limits and made drop chances for items lower, it's all about finding the best build for the run, trying to increase your unit limit and finding the right items before it's too late.

Bare in mind that as I keep adding things, localization doesn't always keep up, so some things aren't translated into the languages (yet). Eventually the localization will apply to the new changes too.

I hope you guys enjoy these changes, let me know what you think!
