Visual Improvements
This is the most significant change in the update; virtually every part of the game has been updated, from the Start Menu to the in-game shops. Many cards have also been changed; practically all enemies have new artwork, and more than half of the player’s cards have also been redrawn.
In addition to all this, I’ve included small animations in the Start Menu; there are five for now, but I’ll be adding more gradually. The same goes for the bosses, who now have death animations.
New Cards and Strategies
I’ve been tweaking and thinking about the Passive abilities in the game for a while now, trying to improve the strategies available. I’ve added a few to bolster some of the weaker strategies; little by little I’ll be changing and adding others, opening up new ways to play.
To try and enable all these strategies, characters now have just 10 cards in their deck, instead of 20 as before. This makes the shop more valuable, and buying new cards strictly necessary (in most cases).
Normal Shop
Speaking of the Shop, it has undergone a significant change, as there are now 6 purchase slots and 3 exchange slots, as well as a new mechanic where you can restock the Shop.
New Tutorial
The tutorial has now been streamlined a bit, which should be helpful for new players. I hope this change makes the game easier to understand and less overwhelming. Now, you’ll simply play a normal game, and as you gradually encounter new mechanics, a brief explanatory message will pop up.
