GuyzGamez A Nightmare on GuyGamez Street: The Cursed Forest of Doom changes
GuyzGamez A Nightmare on GuyGamez Street: The Cursed Forest of Doom - Update 1.2 Hello, fellow gamers and horror fans! I’m Granfloydo, the solo developer of GuyzGamez A Nightmare on GuyGamez Street: The Cursed Forest of Doom, a horror bullet hell 2D game on Steam. In this dev blog, I’m going to share with you some exciting news about the latest update of my game, which addresses some of the bugs and issues that you reported. I also want to thank you for your support and feedback, which helped me improve my game and make it more fun and challenging.
What’s new in Update 1.2? In this update, I fixed some of the bugs and issues that you reported, such as:
Out of bounds clipping: Some of you experienced a glitch where you could clip through the level boundaries and get stuck or fall into the void. This was caused by a faulty collision detection system that I implemented. I fixed this by adding better out of bounds collision to prevent the player from leaving the level area.
Buggy collision with enemy bullets and shield: Some of you noticed that sometimes the enemy bullets would pass through your shield and hit you. This was due to a bug in the collision detection system that I used for the bullets and the shield. I fixed this by improving the collision detection system and making sure that the bullets and the shield behave as expected. I also tweaked the bullet speed and frequency to make the game more balanced and fair.
Highscore not working as expected: Honestly in the future I may just add a floor counter but as of now the highscore feature has been removed from the game.
What’s next? I’m proud of what I have achieved with GuyzGamez A Nightmare on GuyzGamez Street: The Cursed Forest of Doom, but I also know that it has its limitations. This project was very small in scope as it was initially a school assignment. I don’t plan on adding anything new to the game in the future as most of my time right now will be spent on school and work. However, I won’t completely abandon this game like Blizzard did with Overwatch 1. I will still provide bug fixes and support for the existing players.
That being said, I’m also very excited to announce that I’m working on a new game: GuyzGamez A Nightmare on GuyzGamez Street: HeroBased Shooter. Think of what the Overwatch PvE could've been. This game will be a much bigger and more ambitious project than my previous one. I’m aiming to create a game that will appeal to a wider audience and offer more replay value and fun. I’m also planning to use a more advanced game engine and tools to create better graphics and gameplay.
As the CEO and sole developer of GuyzGamez, I have a lot of work ahead of me. I’m still in the early stages of development, so I don’t have much to show you yet. But I promise to keep you updated on my progress and share some sneak peeks and demos along the way.
I hope you are as hyped as I am for this new game. I’m expecting a release somewhere in the not so close future, probably between 2026 to 2028. Until then, thank you for playing and supporting my games. Stay tuned for more news and updates. And remember, don’t go into the forest alone…
