Update April 1, 2026

Today we are releasing a significant build on April 1st and in many places around the world today is celebrated as April Fools' Day. There are no fake release notes today, although there are some April Fools' Day related features.

New Prophecies Dungeon

A new dungeon has come to Prophecies pre-Searing!

To reach the dungeon:

  • Make sure you're playing in Reforged mode

  • Complete Bastion in the North

  • Travel through the Northlands to reach Piken Square

  • Talk to Mullenix inside Piken Square to start the new quest chain

Once completed the dungeon becomes repeatable.

A post-Searing version will be coming in a future update.

Devona is a Hero!

Devona can now be unlocked as a hero for characters in Reforged mode

  • by completing the new pre-Searing dungeon, or

  • talking to her in Lion's Arch.

Note: Reforged mode is still in Alpha and there are some known issues, most notably being able to take both the hero and henchman versions of Devona into some missions.

April Fool's Day Content

  • A new graphics setting is available called "Nostalgia Mode" that emulates an oldschool CRT monitor at glorious 800x600 resolution.

  • Using Nostalgia Mode on April Fool's changes the login screen logo to Guild Wars Deforged.

  • (Nostalgia Mode will still be available after April Fool's Day but the logo screen change will not.)

Inventory Management Upgrades

  • You can identify all unidentified items in your inventory with a single button press.

    • This will consume identification kits.

  • You can transfer all crafting materials in your inventory to your Xunlai material storage with a single button press.

Extra Life Pets Arrive

Pet Rewards from the 2025 Extra Life Live Stream can now be found in specific outposts. See the full pet list on the Guild Wars Wiki.

Balance Adjustments

Hotfix

  • Fixed a bug where you could recruit Devona as a henchman in Lion's Arch if you were not a Reforged Mode character (you can opt into Reforged mode via a shrine).

  • NPC placement adjustments were made just outside of Piken's north exit.

  • Pre-Searing dungeon drop rarities adjusted (some gold items were dropping).
