Welcome back, Guardians!
This Dev Diary will be a short and direct one, just like the stratagems you can call from your ship to support your missions!
We currently have three types of stratagems: Offensive, Defensive, and Supply.
Offensive Stratagems
The Offensive Stratagems focus on pure destruction, huge damage dealers designed to eliminate even the most stubborn enemies, like the Orbital Laser.
Defensive Stratagems
The Defensive Stratagems are focused on protection and support for the Guardian. Some stratagems require crafting, as they are consumed after each use. One example is the well-known Combat Robot, a staple of every Guardian since the first Galactic War.
Supply Stratagems
The Supply Stratagems provide Guardians with weapons, ammunition, or reinforcements. If you remember the first Dev Diary, we showcased the Machinegun. This is a weapon that must be called into each mission using the appropriate stratagem.
And of course, when you’re out of ammo and firing the last bullets of your secondary weapon, you can always call for an Ammo Drop from your ship to resupply.
Right now we have 5 powerful offensive stratagems, 7 defensive stratagems (vehicles included!), and 5 supply stratagems, offering a wide range of tools to destroy the enemies of the Federation. You will be able to unlock them by leveling up and gathering special resources to research them, expanding your ship’s arsenal.
The next Dev Diary will focus on the VR interactivity in Guardians Planetfall, so stay tuned for the next one in a few weeks. We hope you enjoyed this behind-the-scenes look.
