The Next Chapter of Lore

Guardian of Lore didn’t begin with a design document or a business plan. It began with a question I couldn’t ignore anymore:

“Am I proud of what I'm doing with my career? Will I be able to see my son face-to-face one day and tell him I didn't give up on my dreams?”

Years before creating Guardian of Lore, I felt a growing fascination with Latin American art and mythology.

The Inca Trail planted the seed.

A visit to La Capilla del Hombre — the museum and home of Oswaldo Guayasamín — changed something inside me.

I wanted to build something that celebrated culture, knowledge, and the stories that define us.

When my son was born, everything shifted.

I realized I needed to pursue my passion: games.

I came across Unity, started watching tutorials, and began learning — terrified, excited, and determined.

Around that time, my son was obsessed with Sofia the First, where the main character becomes a guardian of magical stories.

Combine that with my own Disney fandom, and suddenly the vision became clear.

We mixed all those influences together — and Guardian of Lore was born.

But the journey didn’t end there.

Encouraged by my wife and our shared love for board games, I created a tabletop version of the concept and took a prototype to PAX Australia 2019.

After launching GOL, I felt the world of Lore still had so much more to say.

So I began experimenting — taking mechanics from the board game prototype and bringing them into a PC prototype.

That experiment became the first seed of what would eventually grow into Champion of Lore.

A universe born from art, family, culture, curiosity, and passion continues to grow.
