Merges and Skills

Trainer Functions:

The trainer is an already existing NPC available after clearing Mount Greywind and claiming it as the players own. Mount Greywind is located directly east of Alara.

Once hired the trainer offers the player the option to unlearn or unevolve skills. Unevolving a skill will bring it back to the previous tier at level 10. This is perfect for those seeking to backtrack and try another merge path they previously locked themselves out of.

You can also unlearn skills. This will completely remove the skill and allow the player to relearn the skill on their own terms. Unlearned skills are completely reset and will have to be rediscovered back at the basic rank and tier 1 just as if the player was starting fresh.

Because of the interactions between merged skills it is not possible to unevolve a merged skill. If someone desires to undo a merge they must unlearn the merged skill. This will allow them to relearn the previous skills that had been sacrificed for the merged skill.

New Player Tooltips for Merges:

To help add some clarity with Merges, tooltips have been added that clarify if the player still has merge options that are not appearing due to other skills not being at the appropriate level and rank.

Bug Fixes

Chain Quests:

There were multiple issues plaguing the more complex chain quests. All issues have now been fixed and all chain quests should function properly.

Chain quests are different from the standard quests receivable at the Adventurer Guild as they do not improve Adventurer rank and they usually have a larger reward at the end. Also unlike normal quests Chain Quests often require the player to travel across multiple different zones.

Chain Quests are one of my favorite parts of the game and I plan to be adding more of them in the future.

Boat:

After many days of frustration my battle with the boat not working correctly has been fixed!

After completing the associated chain quest the boat will now be for sale in Ashenvail Town. It (finally) correctly allows the player to travel on the water when equipped. I have added some more content on islands only accessible by boat to help reward players for going out of the way and unlocking it.

Plans for the Near Future:

I plan to keep monitoring the discussion board for any bugs and fixing those as soon as possible if more appear. Otherwise my main focus at the moment is cleaning up some of the dialogue in the game and trying to make the menus cleaner. I'm also planning on reworking skills so class identity is stronger and combat is more varied. Lastly, I'm planning on adding some more content like more Chain Quests and fleshing out some underused systems like the arena. I hope to be doing updates weekly, but will try to do so more often if bugs arise.

I hope you all enjoy!
