Granser - Act 1 changes
It has now been over a month since Granser - Act 1 has released.
I want to thank everyone who bought and played the game, and extra thanks to anyone who left a review, it's extremely important. I really hope you enjoyed the first third of the story I have been brewing for almost 20 years in various formats.
I have tried to make this story in comic format 3 times, then when I finally worked up the courage to try making games, an attempt was made in rpg maker (the demo is still out there, good luck finding it though) and then I pivoted to a game that would have taken place in the gap years before Granser, and finally settled on the Skautfold idea, a series of games in different genres to grow my skills and serve as heavy foreshadowing for Granser.
The fact I was able to finally get here is nothing short of a miracle, and I want to thank anyone who helped along the way, and supported the games. Without you, my dream would never have come true.Thank you, sincerely.
I wanted to take this moment to go over what changed and my immediate plans for the near future.
Recap for what was added since release:
Added:
-Tutorial menu to the escape menu, this needs refinement since it has minor spoilers if read in full at the start.
-Dream museum is now open, accessible from the red dream. Further refinements required.
-Anime opening added to title screen after 1 minute of idle. It resets when moving the cursor, etc.
-A few new sound effects.
-1 new song for the museum.
-Upon finishing the game you can now enter the red dream. If you didn’t do Petra's quest-line, you will be granted an invite regardless at this point.
-Floor 1 of Petra's tower is NOW OPEN and can be completed. It's a bit of a hike in challenge, you must utilise the crest system and think of a strategy or you will be crushed fast.
-1 new boss and npc, possibly playable in the future. (inside the tower that is)
-2 new music tracks.
-Enraged variants of 3 existing enemies, further floors will have brand new tower only enemies.
-Burst points now save, they already carried on battle to battle, but I forgot to add them to the save system. :I
-New achievement added for clearing the first floor of the Tower, I find it appropriate as the boss is now a decent challenge.
-Gui element showing HP Defence when an enemy has any. I wont show it for the players since this can already be found in the menus and will not change during combat for now.
-Title screen option to swap between gamepad and keyboard, you could always swap from the pause menu, but a lot of people didn’t even notice it. :(
-2k and 4k resolutions added. I cannot test these myself... I can add further resolutions if needed.
-dozens of sounds, and just as many new assets added for floor 2 of the Petra dungeon, it is NOT open yet, but it will be worth the wait, especially for Shrouded in Sanity fans.
-Floor 2 of Petra's tower is now open.
-1 new achievement for said floor completion.
-3 new enemies.
-1 new boss.
-New dungeon mechanic, enabling further versions, this needs further refinement.
-3 songs added.
-1 ambient track added.
-New optional town accessible in Chapter 11.
-Pugs: There are 13 pugs found in towns, upon petting them Saragat will gain a permanent bonus of +1 max hp, and
