Repeated intro

Hello fellow DuPontians! Some sort of error / unintended update seems to have corrupted/made unplayable the save files of some players. I am working hard to resolve this, but unfortunately have not come to a solution yet. If you are having this issue, the magnanimous Francesco Funiati has laid out some steps to restore your file:

What changed

0 fixes3 additions0 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
addedThe game (for this unknown reason) won't recognize the save states, so you need to start a new game
addedProceed up to the first save point (where Santos is) and save in the same slots where you used to have your previous save files (So, for example, if you had 10 save files in the slots from 1 to 10, create ten new saves, in the slots from 1 to 10)
addedReplace the new save files with the ones you originally had (and backed up in the "save - Copy" folder)

Grand Soul Story changes

addedReplace the new save files with the ones you originally had (and backed up in the "save - Copy" folder)
  1. Create a copy of the folder with all the existing save states (Program Files / Steam / Steamapps / Common / Content / Save)

  2. Call it "save - Copy" or whatever, and put it in the same folder where "save" is located

  3. This will be your backup

  4. After that, start the game

  5. The game (for this unknown reason) won't recognize the save states, so you need to start a new game

  6. Proceed up to the first save point (where Santos is) and save in the same slots where you used to have your previous save files (So, for example, if you had 10 save files in the slots from 1 to 10, create ten new saves, in the slots from 1 to 10)

  7. After that, return to the main menu and, WITHOUT exiting the game

  8. Replace the new save files with the ones you originally had (and backed up in the "save - Copy" folder)

  9. You should be able to load them

  10. After that, I highly suggest saving right after loading the save file in order to fully restore the save

Feel free to reach out if you are having further issues. My apologies and thank you for your patience!
