The beta test is intended to verify network load and game performance on all supported platforms. In addition to all the content featured in the previous closed beta, Summons—helpful allies who can be invoked in combat—will also be made available for the first time.

Four quests will be playable during the open beta. Upon completing the first three, "Sephira's Sanguine Glimmer" will unlock as the fourth quest. The new Summons mechanic will be available in this quest, along with Primal Burst—an enhanced version of the Full Burst which requires full coordination from the party to activate. Additionally, as with the closed beta test, Beatrix will be playable once more.
The open beta test supports online multiplayer and cross-platform play.
