GOR3 2.0 BETA ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi guys, in celebration of quite a few years of doing NFS, I thought it would be cool to return to GOR3 and do something special. PLEASE NOTE: What is being released today is a BETA DEMO and everything is subject to change.
This BETA includes one level, and the plan is to update semi-regularly with the whole host of levels/ updated store assets upon which the version will just be GOR3 2.0.
This update was made with careful consideration of keeping the gameplay/charm of the older GOR3 in mind.
Launching GOR3 2.0 BETA
Upon launching the game, you'll be presented with a "Launcher" allowing you to choose from either the 2.0 BETA or "Classic" (The most up-to-date pre-2.0 version)
PLEASE NOTE: System requirements for the 2.0 version are slightly higher than "Classic" Versions.
PATCH NOTES:
GAME
Faithfully rewrote FPS controller from scratch.
Changed PISS mechanic so that it can serve as a parry from projectile-based attacks, UI for this mechanic now indicates when it is active/ its cooldown period.
Rewrote hit detection so it is much more accurate.
Rewrote the timing system so it is much more accurate.
Changed ammo system. Ammo now regenerates at a rate of +1 every 3 seconds. Ammo canisters still exist, but are placed in "High Combat" areas.
Changed game res from 720 x 720 -> 1280 x 720
Updated engine version from 6.5 -> 6.7.2
WORLD
Updated various art assets to have more continuity with the larger GOR3 universe.
Reworked level geometry to be higher detail and provide more environmental storytelling. \ PLEASE NOTE: \ Level geometry is not 1:1 upon closer look, I think you'll find this to be additive and not reductive though.
Restored cut animations for the snake enemies; tails were initially in GOR3 back in the day, but had to be cut due to lag issues.
Added various volumetric lighting effects.
MISC
Remade all UI to be less clunky.
Restored cut view model animations.
Added various particle effects to enemies and player actions.
Updated various graphical assets on the store to be higher resolution.
