Hold onto your trunks. Or, actually, wait. Hold onto your keyboard and also your mouse, because those are what you will need to play the demo for Good Things Vol. 1, available now on Steam Next Fest! Wow!!

Good Things Vol. 1 is a tasty compilation of 15 wildly different minigames of all types - puzzles, arcade action, platforming challenges, a capybara is there also - and this demo will grant you access to 3 of them:

Coyote Time: Gather up your pack of pups and figure out how to use your special coyote powers (you’ll see) to navigate increasingly dangerous levels in this platformer.

Pizza for Elephants: Sara Gruen doesn’t know what she’s talking about, because elephants don’t want WATER they want CHEESE and also carbs. Serve up 250,000 slices to your herd to win in this incremental arcade game.

Four Second Forever: Look, I’ve been making games a long time, and I know what people like; it’s to make split-second decisions under pressure without all the information available, so play this rapid-fire puzzle game, okay? The capybara can be found here.

I (hi it’s John Cooney) made these games and all the others in the Good Things Vol. 1 collection over a year as part of my long-term project, A Time For Good Things, where I released a different game each month with the support of my community. You can learn more about that here.

These games embody everything that I love about the Flash game era I got my start in; they’re weird, they’re experimental, they’re all very different, and most importantly… they were fun for me to make! The whole collection will be releasing on Steam later this year, and I hope you’ll check out the demo and wishlist it.

Okay, that’s it. Thank you. Goodbye.

P.s. If you want to follow me and what I’m working on, I’m on Bluesky!
