changedHey Skeleton Slashers! We're just ONE WEEK away from the release of God of Riffs on July 27th! Wow!We're really excited to get the game into your hands and get your feedback. One of the things that we're excited about, and plan to continue iterating on, is making sure the gameplay mechanics feel "right" when playing GoR. Below are some of our thoughts detailing the gameplay features and mechanics of God of Riffs. Let's get to it.
changedModifiers:Before selecting your track to slay, you can select from a variety of modifiers that will affect your gameplay. These include:
addedModifiers:We plan on adding more modifiers in the future! Are there any special requests you'd like to see? We're all ears. 👂👂👂👂👂👂
changedCombo System:Slashing Skeletons without missing deserves a reward. Along with your streak, you'll contribute to your combo multiplier, which will help you climb up the leaderboards.
changedRage Mode/Power Up:To execute Rage Mode, hit Golden Enemies with your axes. After hitting enough of them, raise an Axe to the kky and press the trigger button!
addedRage Mode/Power Up:Rage mode causes your swings to be 8x more forceful than normal, and add 8 to your current combo multiplier! Use Rage during large enemy attacks to gain as many points as possible!

Hey Skeleton Slashers! We're just ONE WEEK away from the release of God of Riffs on July 27th! Wow!

We're really excited to get the game into your hands and get your feedback. One of the things that we're excited about, and plan to continue iterating on, is making sure the gameplay mechanics feel"right"when playing GoR. Below are some of our thoughts detailing the gameplay features and mechanics of God of Riffs. Let's get to it.

Modifiers:

Before selecting your track to slay, you can select from a variety of modifiers that will affect your gameplay. These include:

  • No Fail (Invincibility)

  • Instant Death (One miss, and you're dead)

  • Strong Arms (Your swings require less force)

  • Weak Arms (Your swings require more force)

  • Hidden Enemies (Enemies will only appear when they are near)

  • Random Enemies (Enemies will switch up their attack formations)

  • Change Enemy Speed (Your enemies will come at you at a speed of your choosing)

We plan on adding more modifiers in the future! Are there any special requests you'd like to see? We're all ears. 👂👂👂👂👂👂

Combo System:

Slashing Skeletons without missing deserves a reward. Along with your streak, you'll contribute to your combo multiplier, which will help you climb up the leaderboards.

Enemy Colors:

Your enemies will come at you in a variety of three colors: Red, Blue, and Gold. Smash enemies with your axe(s) of their corresponding color to destroy them.

The Gold enemies however, can be hit with both axes. Hitting a Gold enemy will supercharge your axes and, when the time is right, you can execute Rage Mode!

Rage Mode/Power Up:

To execute Rage Mode, hit Golden Enemies with your axes. After hitting enough of them, raise an Axe to the kky and press the trigger button!

Rage mode causes your swings to be 8x more forceful than normal, and add 8 to your current combo multiplier! Use Rage during large enemy attacks to gain as many points as possible!

Spectator Mode:

We have full support for LIV Mixed Reality Capture, meaning you can smash skeletons with your own personal avatar, or even as yourself in Mixed Reality! Grab LIV on Steam or at LIV.tv ! Wahoo!

The Future:

We have many more ideas planned for how GoR will evolve as we get your feedback and move to version 1.0 (and beyond!) potentially including…:

  • Played-Created Beatmaps for any audio

  • More enemies! Maybe something a little, cold…

  • More Base-game music!

  • DLC Song Packs!

  • Story Mode!

  • Endless Mode!

God of Riffs will be available in just days, so please check out and wishlist us at heavymetalbeatsaber.com - Thanks!
