Hi all. Hope everyone is doing well. It’s been too long since I posted anything. A lot is going on, so I will break this up into 3 little snippets: Release date, funding, and some exciting news.

Steam post image Release Date

As you might have noticed, the release date for Goalie Madness has sadly been pushed back to May. I did not want to be one of those games, especially with shifting release dates being a hot topic in the last couple of years. The game is just not ready and it’s mostly because I underestimated the amount of work involved, like integrating some Steam features for example. There’s a first time for everything. Setting up social media and building a website took out a good chunk of my time as well. I just finished building the website: www.gamermoosestudios.ca.

With some fresh advice from Steam, I might push back even more just to be on the safe side. I don’t want to put out a rushed game; no one deserves that.

Steam post image Funding

I finally live in a place I like and I don’t want to lose it. Making sure I can cover all my expenses every month is a big distraction and it keeps me away from the game. I considered running a Kickstarter to help but it seems a bit of an overkill for a small, first-time project like this. I can offer the game in Early Access instead and build it alongside the Steam community. If I could fully dedicate myself to the studio that way, it would solve a lot. It sure would be easier to get things done.

The few people that have played the game all say the same thing, and that's: 'It needs one thing: 1 vs 1 multiplayer'. I agree. I considered it in the beginning but at the time, decided on a single-player experience for simplicity. It probably will not be part of the initial release but the game will offer multiplayer, at no extra cost. I can hear all the cheers from here… You are welcome!

That’s it.

Best wishes all, Eric | GamerMoose Studios
