Go Kart Island changes
See that? WE'RE UP TO v0.3, BABY!
To celebrate the upcoming Next Fest, the demo now includes the NEXT (see what I did there?) event from the story mode - the Hotel Race! With that, you also get a new character - Hotelier Holly - available to unlock AND five new race challenges! What's next you say? What about MORE of the island open to explore?!
In addition to the above, there are more changes and bug fixes in the update, obvs. Feast your eyes on this big ol' list of stuff.

NEW CONTENT
Hotel Races added (Story mode and 5x Challenges)
New character Holly the Zebra can be unlocked
Additional area of the island around the hotel is available to explore
NEW FEATURES
Reduced the severity of the start boost "overboosting" penalty
Screen fade and instant camera cut are now applied when respawning
A target arrow for the Paint Shop appears on screen when a new kart colour is unlocked
Size decrease and splat effects are removed when invincibility is toggled on
Colliding with a kart when invincible and they are small/splatted will not cause them to spin
Changed the colour scheme of the collectable Mayor Boards to further differentiate them from the large obstacle version
A message is displayed when collecting the first coin, gem and Mayor Board
Updated the level bounds on multiple events so auto-respawn is less abrupt
Added a pop up window to confirm event restart when difficulty is changed during an event
The position UI is highlighted further when at risk of elimination in Elimination Races
Added "AVOID!" text to the two moving Mayor Board obstacles in "Wedding Dash"
Squish-E-Boi obstacle shadows now scale up and down
Added SFX when the "full health" message is displayed in Death Races
BUG FIXES
Fixed the story mode not loading in some instances after returning to the main menu
Fixed resolution settings not being applied correctly when playing on Steam Deck
Fixed the end game credits showing after returning to main menu from a challenge
Fixed dialogue being automatically triggered after exiting the Paint Shop
Fixed the "splat" state visually not being applied (character previously could revert to the "small" state)
Fixed 4th position always being given invincibility in "Town Loop"
Fixed being able to select buttons after choosing a story save slot or starting a challenge
Fixed some UI positioning issues when in 16:10 resolutions
Fixed no loading screen appearing after restarting the event before the start screen is dismissed
Fixed various gaps in geometry, and texture tiling sizes
Fixed the Cookie missile not showing any VFX when it is removed from the world
Fixed target arrows being visible when the game was paused during events
Fixed auto dialogue triggers being able to be activated multiple times
Fixed button alignment on Select Save screen
