Gloria Victis: Medieval MMORPG changes
- Trainmap
We have a pleasure to welcome to the full mounts test! This time, you will be able to try out the mounts management mechanics, including acquiring and training your mounts the same way it will be after the system’s final launch. Also, you will have a chance to see the mounts in action during the regular gameplay in every PVP and PVE scenario.
This time, the test sessions will last longer and more often. We would love to encourage everyone to try out the mounts and share your feedback either using the in-game tool or in our official Discord channel. As in every test of such a significant change, we’re looking for every exploit which could occur with the mounts’ release – thank you in advance for reporting them!
Also, this update introduces the updated models of the top-tier Ismir light armor and a new questline for Ismirs, several improvements to the player’s synchronization and various gameplay systems, and much more. Try out this update on your own!
See you in battle!
The mounts tests
Acquiring a mount:
To acquire a mount, you have to tame it first. Taming a mount is done by interacting with a wild horse which can be found out in the world – both in the nation’s native areas and on the links between nations. For test purposes, the respawn time of wild horses is quicker than it will be after the system’s final launch.
After successfully taming a mount, you will be asked to name it. While the mount’s name doesn’t have to be unique, please remember that it must follow the same rules as the character’s name!
Mounts management:
You can see all of your mounts in the Stable window, which can be accessed by talking to a Stablemaster NPC who can be found near the Logistician in capital cities and every nation-controlled fort, castle and temple. Note: The Stablemaster is not present in the Guild Castles yet – it will be changed at the system’s final launch with the addition of a player-built Stable
In the Stable window, you can set an active mount, display the statistics of all your mounts and train them.
You can display the statistics of your active mount while being in the open world, such as its attributes, HP and age, by opening the mount's panel ("Y" key). To display the statistics of other mounts than the active one, you need to open the Stable window.
You can call the active mount to your position by pressing the "T" key.
Calling a mount to your position takes 15 seconds in order to prevent exploiting the PVP combat using mounts, which could reduce the importance of group tactics and player's own skill in combat.
When the horse's HP goes down to 0, it doesn't die – it will be possible to recall it but after a cooldown.
Training your mount:
You can train your mounts in the Stable window by paying for the training with the in-game money. The training cost increases proportionally with the mount's level. The training can be done once within 22 hours.
Moreover, an active mount earns experience for kills, and assists for kills, done by the player while riding a mount. Also, the mount gains experience for the distance travelled (counted by the geographic distance – circling in place won't work)
Disclaimer – please remember that it’s still a testing phase. Depending on the outcome of the tests’ outcome, the currently owned mounts might or might
