Glitchy: Cute Loop changes
Welcome everyone to the page of Glitchy Frame Studio's latest game, Glitchy: Cute Loop.
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the newest anomaly-hunting game, designed to introduce players to this unique genre in a family-friendly way.
Most anomaly-hunting games feature adult, creepy, or horror elements. However, that is not the case with Glitchy: Cute Loop. Our game aims to provide a safe experience for children, teenagers, and adults alike. We took the 'family-friendly' aspect seriously: it can be played by any age group, even by children together with their parents. There are no scary, questionable, or jump-scare scenes included.
It is truly up to the parent to decide when to allow their child screen time; if they do, this is a safe game for that purpose, which can also develop a young player's observation skills.
For older players, the difficulty is adjustable: Normal and Hard modes will definitely put your skills to the test.
We hope you enjoy the game.
Have fun! – The Glitchy Frame Studio team, composer akaraidon707, and our enthusiastic testers: Starlis, DefaultQ, and Muugan.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an anomaly-hunting game?
In anomaly-hunting games, the player sees the same environment repeatedly, but changes may occur in the scene. Your task is to spot these changes. If successful, you progress. If you miss an anomaly, the loop restarts.
What is an anomaly?
It refers to something that deviates from the usual, the regular, or the expected. In our case, we call differences in the level 'anomalies.' For example, the bunny never wears a hat—unless he's up to some mischief. You need to find these differences to move forward.
How scary is it?
While most anomaly-hunting games are horror-themed, this title is definitely not. It is not scary at all; in fact, it offers a specifically calming and friendly atmosphere.
What is the age rating?
The game is ageless; it's up to the parent to decide when their child is ready to sit in front of the computer.
How long is the game?
These games can usually be completed in 20-40 minutes, but we've added extra content through achievements. With over 90 anomalies included, it can provide new content for hours.
How difficult is the game?
On Easy mode, changes are easy to spot. For example, all small animals might disappear from the level.
On harder difficulties, however, it's worth counting the books every time, as someone might have moved one and didn't put it back.
Do I need to be able to read to understand the game?
Although the game supports multiple languages, there is very little written text. No language skills are required; we designed the menu and controls to feel natural and intuitive. The menu is also easy to use and understand, allowing you to track your progress and adjust the difficulty mode.
What is the map for?
In most anomaly-hunting games, if you miss a difference, you get no feedback on what went wrong. In our game, you can use a paw icon on the map to see where you didn't look closely enough. We don't reveal exactly what you missed, as that anomaly might appear again, and we want to preserve the joy of discovery.
Does the game work with a controller?
Yes.
Is it Steam Deck compatible?
Thanks to Steam's Proton layer, it runs perfectly on Steam Deck as well.
How long did it take to make the game?
From idea to implementation, it took about 2 months. Two female members of the Glitchy team—Deko (artist) and Andi (programmer)—built the game as a hobby project alongside their full-time jobs.
Can I stream the game?
Of course, feel free! The game features original music composed by akaraidon707 specifically for this project.
What is your favorite anomaly?
The team generally agrees: the octopus wearing gloves.
Do you have other anomaly-hunting games?
Yes, Targeted: –10 Days. That is a much darker mafia story with a horror game mode. Targeted was made for players who are already familiar with the genre and can spend hours at a single location to examine everything. The Targeted demo was released at the same time as Glitchy: Cute Loop, so you can try it for free.
Additionally, a horror version of Cute Loop is currently in development.
Do you have Discord or email contact?
Yes. Discord is available here, and our email address is glitchyframestudio@gmail.com .
