Hey Everyone,

What changed

0 fixes4 additions0 changes0 removals
  • UI and audio
  • Gameplay
addedWe've updated the account management UI, and players can now manage their GeoGuessr account and overview of Steam connection directly from Steam, whether that's linking for the first time or managing an existing connection. Easier for new links, and full control for those who are already linked.
addedTo bring GeoGuessr friends to Steam, we first had to remove the existing Steam friends tray which meant a meaningful refactoring effort before we could build anything new on top of it. The result is a GeoGuessr side tray that lets you:
addedAdd friends and view their player profiles
addedYou can now access replays of your latest duels directly from Quickplay. This lets you review your lates games to detect potential cheating and keep playing fair.

Since our last update, we've been heads-down on the work that underpins everything: refactoring the foundation so that bringing the full GeoGuessr web experience to Steam is actually possible. A big part of this is closing the gap faster, we regularly get questions about features available on web, both existing ones and newly announced ones like analytics, that haven't landed on Steam yet. You don't need to flag them, we know they're missing and they're on the roadmap. This work isn't always visible, but it's what makes delivering all of it feasible.

What we have shipped Account Management

We've updated the account management UI, and players can now manage their GeoGuessr account and overview of Steam connection directly from Steam, whether that's linking for the first time or managing an existing connection. Easier for new links, and full control for those who are already linked.

GeoGuessr Side Tray

To bring GeoGuessr friends to Steam, we first had to remove the existing Steam friends tray which meant a meaningful refactoring effort before we could build anything new on top of it. The result is a GeoGuessr side tray that lets you:

  • See what your GG friends are playing in real time

  • Add friends and view their player profiles

  • Chat with friends across both Steam and web

Player profiles are also now live directly from the side tray.

Replays in Quickplay

You can now access replays of your latest duels directly from Quickplay. This lets you review your lates games to detect potential cheating and keep playing fair.

On Single Player We know this one has been on your radar. Single player has been deprioritized while we get the cross-platform foundation right, but it's coming. We're committed to a coherent experience across platforms, and single player is part of that picture.

More to share as things progress.

Thanks for sticking with us, GG Devs
