Mad Alice Fumo + 7/25 Update!

Today is July 25th, which happens to mark the four-year anniversary of when Gensokyo Odyssey was first conceived! It’s been a wild and wonderful ride since then, and I want to take a moment to thank you all for being a part of this journey.

Last month, I attended TouhouFest, which was a very interesting to say the least. I met a lot of fans!

And these.

Fans and fan content are highly appreciated and I'm very happy to know Gensokyo Odyssey has brought together and inspired so many people to make fan art, custom models (someone even made a Kakkoi SM64 mod!), and amazing things.

I'd like to highlight today one of the coolest examples of these; The Gensokyo Odyssey Voiced Over Project! A massive, fan-led collaboration featuring voice actors from across the Touhou fandom. This project aims to fully voice dub the entire game, with a mix of well-known names and fresh talent alike!

Honestly, it’s mind-blowing to see the biggest Touhou fandub forming around a game where a crazed redneck dabs mid-monologue. But from what I've been shown, the quality is insane. It’s ambitious, heartfelt, and genuinely hilarious. I highly recommend checking out their trailer, the full release drops August 23rd on their channel!

Laundromat News

Now, let’s talk TheLaundromat; Kakkoi's Money Laundromat, an update planned for the game. Development is moving full steam ahead, and while I don’t want to spoil too much, I can tell you this:

• The Laundromat is much bigger than originally planned.

• It features brand-new gameplay mechanics that set it apart from the base game.

• There’s a lot of writing (Kakkoi and Okuu fans, you’re going to be very happy). Personally, I think the writing in this is a big step up from the base game; probably because I’ve had so many years of chaotic storytelling practice.

• You’ll see returning characters, new faces, some may shock you!

• It includes an original soundtrack, and we’re still deciding whether to merge it with the existing OST or release it as a standalone album.

We’ve got new and returning artists involved, some of whom you may recognize, and yes; there are cutscenes of Kron doing stupid thing s. The Laundromat will be a free update included in the base game, releasing later this year. I can’t wait to see your reactions!

Mad Alice Fumo!!!

After the success of the Kakkoi Fumo, one request has been constantly asked many times throughout the months, and that is "When are we gonna get a Mad Alice fumo?"

Today, we're able to answer that!

As of today, the Kickstarter campaign for the Mad Alice Fumo is live! You can now pledge your support to bring this chaotic puppet magician to life and receive her, complete with exclusive Gensokyo Odyssey merchandise and bonuses!
