1. Check the system requirements for the game have been met These are listed at the bottom of the Steam store page. If you don't meet the minimum requirements, you may experience a drop in frame rate, or the game may not be able to run. If you are using a multi-GPU setup, such as NVIDIA's SLI or AMD's Crossfire technology, please disable these settings before trying.

2. Update Windows Operating System and any Video/Graphics Drivers Please ensure you run any Windows Updates which are pending, and make sure all the latest updates are installed in your operating system. If you haven't updated your drivers this can cause various problems with in-game graphics or the game not launching, so please update your video card driver after performing a Windows update. If you've tried these and you're still having problems, try a clean install of the video driver set. This will remove any unnecessary files or game profiles that were present in the previous driver installation.

3. Add game folders and files to your antivirus program's exceptions/exclusions list The game executable file may not start due to a misjudgement of the anti-virus software. To work around this issue, add all of the following files and folders to your antivirus and firewall exclusion list:

1. Give Steam and games admin rights Running the Steam.exe in administrator mode may help the game run properly. You can do it by right-clicking on the exe file and selecting Run as administrator.

To check the game's cache, follow these steps:

1. Restart your computer and launch Steam.

2. Right-click on the game from the "Library" section and select "Properties" from the menu.

3. Select the "Installed Files" tab and click the "Verify integrity of game files" button.

4. Steam will check the game's files. This process may take a few minutes.

Important: One or more files may fail validation, but the files that fail will be local configuration files that should not be replaced as part of this process. Therefore, you can safely ignore the relevant messages. Also, if a problem is found with the file, it will be automatically downloaded or replaced by Steam.
