Gear Up Einstein! changes
In this patch, we are introducing the new Divergence system, a complete gadget rework, balancing adjustments, improved visuals, and a bunch of onboarding improvements.
Message from the developers
It's been great watching you play Gear Up Einstein since we released our first playable demo back in April. We're thrilled to see the positive response and glad to be overwhelmed with feedbacks. Keep it coming! After reading all your comments and reports, we've been hard at work making a bunch of adjustments. On top of that, we've been cooking up cool new features, some of which are releasing with this patch (e.g., Divergence). Overall, the amount of new content is on the smaller side, but that's because we're solidifying the foundations for the crazy updates we plan to release next. A developer update video will be dropping shortly to tease what we're working on and what's next for Gear Up Einstein!
Demo Patch #1
Divergence
After each mission, the timeline divergence increases.
Higher divergence levels increase the chance of items and entities from other eras appearing.
Divergent elements are identified by a purple visual effect.
Beware: combat difficulty remains the same even if divergent elements are slightly stronger than what you usually encounter
Gadget Rework
Removed gadget loadout customization before starting missions.
You now have a gadget inventory during missions.
The Nuclear Machine automatically generates nuclear energy and creates a random gadget whenever it reaches its maximum capacity.
Note that the Nuclear Machine cannot create a gadget if your inventory is currently full.
All gadgets are now stronger and have a much larger impact on battle outcomes.
Gadgets are now unlocked through your personal progression.
Item Compare
While your character panel is open, hovering over an item will automatically display a comparison between what your character has equipped and the hovered item.
By default, the comparison doesn't show all details. Use the Inspect action to view the full stat breakdown.
Note that the compared item does not calculate possible stat scaling since it is not equipped yet.
Character Guide
Added a new option for new players that activates character guides during a mission.
Guides provide hints on how to play the character and offer starting item recommendations.
This feature can be toggled on or off at any time in the settings menu.
General Improvements
Added new lobby visuals.
Added more sound effects.
Reinforcements are now displayed on the exact battlefield tile where they will arrive.
Summoning items from the past have been temporarily removed (i.e., Slaves, Guard Tower, and Whisky Barrel).
Updated visuals for loot boxes dropped on the battlefield.
Improved auto-targeting mechanics.
Increased the cap for personal upgrades unlockable in the demo (2 -> 5).
Increased the cap for task force upgrades unlockable in the demo (2 -> 4).
Updated music tracks.
"Invincible" is now an official keyword and prevents debuffs.
Added icons for all important keywords
Added a new glossary to the escape menu.
