changedBecause our budget was low, and we went for a full modern 3D style, we utilised some Unity Asset Store assets. In hindsight, this wasn't the right approach and not one we plan to do again, especially given the reputation many 'asset-flip' style games have garnered.
changedAs such, we have decided to make a permanent price reduction .
addedFrom today, the new price is $0.99 , which is about one-third the cost of a cup of coffee. We believe this now offers great value for money, offering a good couple of hours or more playtime, with a game that, for its faults, is a little bit different to many FPS games out there.
addedWe hope you enjoy Gates at its new price point. We tried to make something cool, we may not have succeeded as intended, but for 99 cents, it is worth a pop.

Hi all,

We released Gate of Hell in 2019, following a development cycle of around five months.

The goal was to make something visually interesting, fast-paced and (hopefully) fun.

Because our budget was low, and we went for a full modern 3D style, we utilised some Unity Asset Store assets. In hindsight, this wasn't the right approach and not one we plan to do again, especially given the reputation many 'asset-flip' style games have garnered.

The end result was a fun-ish, short bursts type game that looked a little cheap and was limited in scope. The genre and style were probably a little too ambitious for what we could realistically deliver with the budget constraints we had at the time.

As such, we have decided to make a permanent price reduction.

From today, the new price is $0.99, which is about one-third the cost of a cup of coffee. We believe this now offers great value for money, offering a good couple of hours or more playtime, with a game that, for its faults, is a little bit different to many FPS games out there.

We hope you enjoy Gates at its new price point. We tried to make something cool, we may not have succeeded as intended, but for 99 cents, it is worth a pop.
