Greetings, Gatekeepers!

We’ve launched the Steam page for the Crustad DLC. And we’d like to share what we’re working on right now.

Version 1.2

The free major update 1.2 has grown larger than expected, so its release is shifting by about a month.

But before you worry - here’s what’s coming.

Fully Reworked Artifact Ban System

We’ve completely redesigned the artifact ban system in the Emporium. Previously, you had only 10 ban slots for the entire artifact pool. Now you have 40 slots total, split into 5 artifact categories.

Slots unlock as you discover artifacts within their category. And most importantly, banning is now free. Experiment with builds as much as you like.

Aspect System

Aspects are gameplay modifiers that can make your run more challenging - or easier. We’ll share more details later.

Soul Engine

A new type of mission. Activate the Soul Engine and defeat enemies within its area to charge it.

Altar of Interception

An optional activity. Summon the Fugitive and see what he’s hiding in his backpack.

And that’s not all - we’ll reveal more closer to release.

Gatekeeper: Crustad

A paid DLC (at a fair price, we promise) that lets you travel to the planet Crustad, fight Lord Crustad, and attempt to rescue your fellow gatekeeper - Maverick.

A full overview will come later, but here’s a short list of what to expect:

  1. An alternate final boss with an exclusive soundtrack

  2. A new Gatekeeper

  3. A new planet and a new enemy roster

  4. 11 new artifacts

  5. 5 new triads

  6. A new mission type

  7. A new altar

  8. The Iron Range - a brand-new side activity for Gatekeeper

Holiday Update

Before the New Year, we’ll release a small update with bug fixes and festive location customization to help lift the mood while we prepare larger content drops.

Thank you for staying with us. We hope you enjoy what’s coming.

See you in the Amphitheater! Gravity Lagoon

Help Us Get the Bullet Heaven Tag

We need your help to convince Valve to add an official Bullet Heaven tag on Steam for games like Gatekeeper!

You can support the initiative by adding user-defined tags to your favorite Bullet Heaven games. It only takes a moment:

  • Open any of your favorite Bullet Heaven games on Steam

  • Scroll down to the User-Defined Tags section

  • Add the tag: Bullet Heaven

This is the most direct way to signal interest to Valve — and they are actively reviewing this data.

Want to learn more? Watch this video for all the details and clear instructions on how to add User-Defined Tags.
