Welcome to Garden Ink’s First Dev Update
Hi everyone, and welcome 💚
This is the very first Steam News post for Garden Ink, and we just want to say how grateful we are that you’re here. Whether you stumbled onto the page today or have already been wishlisting the game. Thank you for taking a moment to stop by.
This post marks the beginning of our monthly development updates, where we’ll share how development is going, what we’re working on, and where Garden Ink is headed as it grows.
What Is Garden Ink?
Garden Ink is a cozy sandbox/exploration game where you shape and grow your own world. Merging decorations and coloring tools helps you customize your world. With hand-painted visuals and a soothing soundtrack, it’s time to discover every cute surprise.
Please check out our Demo, if you wanna get a better feeling for the game!
What We’re Working On Right Now
Right now, we’re focused on building on a strong (and cozy!) foundation for the game. Here are a few of the things we’ve been busy with lately:
Refining the painting and merge systems We’ve been polishing these systems feel and even added the possibility to move the ground itself now.
Adding the City biome This includes new buildings, new creatures, and several new features to explore.
Implementing player feedback For example, we added a playtime counter to the save slots and increased the default movement speed.
Adjusting and expanding minigames This includes tweaks to the Kite Game and adding the Stone Dude, who can build statues for you.
Improving clarity and progression We’ve added things like a progress marker for the stars to make goals clearer and easier to track.
Refining language support Especially making sure Arabic letters connect properly and display as intended.
Lots of small features and bug fixes Many little tweaks that help everything feel smoother and more pleasant overall.
About the Demo
If you’d like to get a feel for Garden Ink right now, we have a demo available on Steam!
The demo gives you a small slice of the game, including:
Experience part of the first 4 bioms
Color and merge to your heart's content!
Get a feel for the tone, pace, and atmosphere
It’s an early look, but it should give you a sense of what we’re aiming for. We’d absolutely love to hear what you think!
Demo Feedback
If you play the demo, your feedback means a lot to us. 💌 We’re especially interested in hearing:
What felt relaxing or satisfying
What felt confusing or unfinished
What you’d love to see expanded as development continues
You can share your thoughts:
In the Steam forums
Through reviews
Or over on our Discord Server
Every bit of input helps Garden Ink grow!
What’s Coming Next
Over the next few months, we’ll be:
Expanding and refining the bioms
Adding more objects
Iterating based on demo feedback and community suggestions
Implementing more quality-of-life features
Overall polishing what’s already there
We’ll be using these monthly posts to keep you updated and show you how things are coming along.
Also, Garden Ink will also be part of the upcoming Steam Next Fest! Garden Ink
Thank You
Making a game like this is a slow and careful process, and having people interested from the very beginning means more than we can say. Thank you for being here, for your curiosity, and for your kindness.
We hope you enjoy spending a little time with Garden Ink, and we’ll see you again soon with our next update! 🌿✨
