Game of Thrones Kingsroad changes
In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, the Sellsword inflicts targets with the unique ‘Shock’ effect. Once Shock stacks up to 6 times, it converts into ‘Destruction,’ signaling the start of their true offensive. Enemies afflicted with Destruction suffer significantly increased Damage Taken and Daze Damage.
‘Shock’ can be stacked by using skills or combos that have points invested in their masteries. So, which combos and masteries are the most effective to use? To answer this question, we have put together a list of recommended combos and masteries.
Sellswords mainly use Strike Combo I
Sellswords have longer attack motions than other classes. To cover this weakness, investing in masteries will grant you ‘Hitstun Immunity’ during combos. Keep in mind that this immunity only activates during a Strike, not when weaving in Basic Attacks. Because of this, it is best to focus on Strike Combo I to keep those Basic Attacks as short as possible.

Recommendation 1: Stack up Shock using Strike Combos
▲ Simply select the left side of Mastery (Photo: Created by Gukmin Tree)
To apply ‘Shock’ through Strike Combos, both Axe and Gauntlet builds invest in [Shock], [Heavy Attack], and [Squelch]. First, [Shock] grants the Hitstun Immunity effect while executing combos and provides a Damage Reduction effect. It also inflicts Shock stacks on targets hit by the combo. [Heavy Attack] increases damage and prevents enemies from evading or parrying your combos.
[Squelch] recovers additionally the Rage when combo hit. The final hit of a combo inflicts ‘Shock’ on the target. When combined with the previously mentioned [Shock] mastery, a single use of Combo I will apply 3 stacks of Shock. This means you can trigger the ‘Destruction’ state immediately after executing Combo I just twice.
However, there are some downsides. For Sellswords to maximize their burst damage, they need to dump their skills when the enemy is in the ‘Destruction’ state, not just ‘Shock.’ Therefore, you must closely monitor the target's Destruction status and its remaining duration; if the Destruction state ends while you are casting, your skill damage will drop drastically.
In the early stages of combat, it is easy to predict when the ‘Destruction’ state will be applied. However, the longer the battle goes, the harder it is to hit your timing. This is due to the rule that ‘Shock’ stacks cannot be built on enemies already in the Destruction state. Furthermore, in co-op content like World Bosses or Raids, the crowded UI makes it trickier to intuitively keep track of Shock and Destruction statuses.

Recommendation 2: Critical Strike Rate Buff + Cooldown Reduction

Change the last mastery of Gauntlets Strike Combo I from [Squelch] to \. While it boasts stronger effects with skill cooldown reduction and critical attack rate increase buffs, the Gauntlets Strike Combo I's last attack is triggered upon hitting a critical attack. Therefore, it becomes effective only after you have secured a certain level of critical attack rate stats.
Extra: Use Axe Strike Combo II when facing multiple enemies

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad contains a variety of content featuring numerous enemies. A representative example is the 'Enemy Hideout' placed in the field. A lot of enemies also appear in the 'Besieged Site' during certain times. In these situations, the most effective choice is the [Vitality] mastery, which is the last mastery of Axe Strike Combo II.
If players invest in this mastery, the last attack of Axe Strike Combo II knocks down enemies. Thanks to the animation of swinging the axe horizontally, it can target numerous enemies at once. Moreover, players can directly unleash a Mighty Strike on these knocked-down enemies. Since players do not take any damage during the Mighty Strike animation, it allows for a very stable combat experience. In addition, you can recover HP if you invest in 'Seasoned Strike' within the Attack trait tree.
