changed‘Game of Thrones: Kingsroad’ features a combo system that combines basic attacks and strikes. While its main purpose is to deal damage to enemies, investing in masteries can grant various additional effects, such as recovering HP or triggering unique class effects.
changedFor the Knight, Combo 1 is highly recommended for both the greatsword and dual blades. First of all, Dual Blade Combo 1 offers the highest convenience among all combos in the game. With virtually no post-delay, it can accumulate damage quickly and easily counter enemy attacks. Although Greatsword Combo 1 is slightly slower than the dual blades, its damage and basic rage gain are much higher.

changedThe Knight's playstyle is divided by whether they have learned 'Boost Morale.' Before learning this skill, ways to enter the 'Fighting Spirit' state are limited, so you must accumulate 'Valor' through combos. This makes masteries related to Valor and Chivalry essential. These masteries are [Valor] and [Chivalry]. [Valor] can be acquired from Strike Combo Level 5, granting 1 stack of Valor per combo hit. [Chivalry] can be learned at Strike Combo Level 25 and grants 1 stack of Valor when the final attack of a combo hits.
changedIn the early game, learning [Valor] and [Chivalry] in the greatsword combo mastery is recommended. Because the Knight's Valor and Fighting Spirit effects activate upon skill usage, you must trigger them right before using a skill. Therefore, engage in combat with the user-friendly Dual Blade Combo I, and swap weapons to activate Fighting Spirit with Greatsword Combo I right before using a skill. Afterward, using an active skill grants a 20% decrease in Rage cost and a 25% increase in skill damage
removedAs a side note, keep [Valor] and [Chivalry] at Level 1 and do not upgrade them further. This is because after learning the enhanced version of 'Boost Morale' with an engraving, you no longer stack Valor using combos. In fact, triggering Valor or Fighting Spirit from combos at later stages will ruin your play rhythm, so these masteries should only be used in the early stages.

‘Game of Thrones: Kingsroad’ features a combo system that combines basic attacks and strikes. While its main purpose is to deal damage to enemies, investing in masteries can grant various additional effects, such as recovering HP or triggering unique class effects.

However, recommended combo and masteries differ because each class features unique controls and motions. First, let’s explore the recommended combo and masteries for the Knight who uses both the two-handed greatsword and dual blades

The Knight Mainly Relies on Strike Combo I

For the Knight, Combo 1 is highly recommended for both the greatsword and dual blades.

Early Phase Invest [Valor] And [Chivalry] Mastery

The Knight's playstyle is divided by whether they have learned 'Boost Morale.' These masteries are [Valor] and [Chivalry]. [Valor] can be acquired from Strike Combo Level 5, granting 1 stack of Valor per combo hit. Late Phase Invest [Flammation] And [Eruption] Mastery

▲ If you learn to boost morale, you do not use [Valor] and [Chivalry] (Photo: Gukmin Tree)

As previously mentioned, you will stop using the [Valor] and [Chivalry] masteries once you learn 'Boost Morale.' These will be replaced by [Flammation] and [Eruption] which both increase Strike Combo damage and relate to the 'Burn' effect.

First of all [Ignition] has a 50% chance to apply the Burn effect to enemies. This is a debuff that inflicts damage every second with damage increasing based on the mastery level. It functions as a trigger to activate the [Eruption] mastery effect described later.

[Eruption] is a mastery that boosts combo damage against enemies afflicted with the Burn effect. This applies equally to the Burn granted by [Ignition] as well as the Burn inflicted by the 'Ignite' skill. Note that having two Burn effects active at the same time does not further increase the damage.

[Rage] And [Heavy Attack] Are Down to Player Preference

▲ [Rage] is more efficient with Dual Blades Mastery than Greatsword (Photo: Created by Gukmintree)

[Rage] and [Heavy Attack] are the second set of masteries available starting at Heavy Strike Combo Level 15. They share a common feature that leaves enemies unable to react to your combos while branching out into different roles where [Heavy Attack] increases damage output and [Rage] focuses on rage recovery.

While players usually choose [Heavy Attack] to increase damage, picking up [Rage] is not a bad choice if you lack rage. However we do not recommend [Rage] for the greatsword combo. Greatsword's [Rage] triggers only when you attack enemies in the Fighting Spirit state. As previously mentioned you need to spam active skills once Fighting Spirit is triggered so you will have no time to use strike combos. In contrast the dual blades' [Rage] is much more practical since it triggers whenever you attack a burning enemy.
