A Quick Dev Update (and What I’m Working on Next)
Posted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game Studio
Hey everyone! Loki here and just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who’s spent time bouncing balls and defending the galaxy in Galaxy Ball Defender. Seeing people enjoy my first VR project all these years later still genuinely means a lot.
I also wanted to share a quick update on what I’ve been working on recently.
My Latest Project: Pocket Racer Shop Sim
Lately, I’ve been heads-down on a new solo project called Pocket Racer Shop Sim.
While it’s not a VR title, it comes from the same place as Galaxy Ball Defender: a love for hands-on interaction, clear feedback, and gameplay systems that feel good moment-to-moment.
This time the focus is on:
running a hobby shop
opening part packs
tinkering and customizing tiny race cars
building race tracks
and hosting friendly multiplayer race nights with friends
It’s a much more relaxed experience overall, but it still scratches that satisfying “feel” of interacting directly with a game world.
Built to Play With Friends
One of the main goals with this project was building something that works just as well solo as it does socially.
You can:
play singleplayer at your own pace
then host your save and invite friends into your shop
race together on custom tracks
upgrade cars side by side
Friends take their progress with them
It’s designed to feel more like a casual hangout than a competitive esport.
Curious to See More?
Pocket Racer Shop Sim is currently in active development with closed playtests underway and a public demo planned down the road.
If that sounds like something you’d enjoy: Feel free to check out the store page here and wishlist it to follow along.
Thanks again for supporting my work over the years, it really does mean a lot.
