changedHi space cadets! With how busy we've been between developing and keeping up with the Kickstarter, I haven't had a chance to update the steam page. I realized we're leaving a huge group of you out of the loop so moving forward I'm going to make sure to post updates here as well.
addedChange is a good thing"Galactic Getaway"- this is a game in space, right? In almost all of the screenshots I showed before, there was no way to tell GG took place in outer space. So we changed the artistic mood of the game. With bright purple terrain and starry skies, now it’s clear you’re on an Alien planet! We’ve also added alien crops, meteors to break, and crazy creatures to collect.
addedUpdatesWe've hit a few roadblocks that are going to impact the date of early access. Though I can't give you an exact date of when it will be available, I can say it won't be this month. We want to make sure we deliver something we're proud of and that's going to most likely take a few more months. Hopefully these new updates will ease anyone who's anxious about the progress of the game. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email or send a message in Discord.
addedUpdatesI’m also looking for a publisher to bring Galactic Getaway to the Nintendo Switch and in multiple languages. Your support can make the difference! If you haven't already please add Galactic Getaway to your Steam wishlist, you’ll help us attract publishers and show that this game is something people are excited about.

Change is a good thing

The last few months have been really transformative for GG (Galactic Getaway). I'm grateful to all the backers of the Kickstarter but also heard the negative feedback as well. "Animal Crossing from Walmart", "This looks like a mod", etc. What I realized was that describing our game as "Animal Crossing with better multiplayer" actually made our game lack identity.

"Galactic Getaway"- this is a game in space, right? In almost all of the screenshots I showed before, there was no way to tell GG took place in outer space. So we changed the artistic mood of the game. With bright purple terrain and starry skies, now it’s clear you’re on an Alien planet! We’ve also added alien crops, meteors to break, and crazy creatures to collect.

Creatures? That's right, GG is officially a creature collector! But with an extra twist. Different creatures will be attracted to your planet when you farm crops, decorate your planet with furniture, and invite friends over. Spend time figuring out their favorite food, petting them, or maybe telling them a joke to have them join your team and unlock more ways to build your home.

Updates

Last month’s alpha test was a huge success, with over 500 backers diving in and playing for up to 7 hours to 100% all of the creatures we have so far. This really gave me confidence that we're moving in the right direction with these changes.

We've hit a few roadblocks that are going to impact the date of early access. Though I can't give you an exact date of when it will be available, I can say it won't be this month. We want to make sure we deliver something we're proud of and that's going to most likely take a few more months. I’m also looking for a publisher to bring Galactic Getaway to the Nintendo Switch and in multiple languages. Your support can make the difference! If you haven't already please add Galactic Getaway to your Steam wishlist, you’ll help us attract publishers and show that this game is something people are excited about.

Thank you and I look forward to posting more updates about our progress!
