Here in Poland, winter has already come and temperatures have dropped to more than minus 15 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit). It is not quite as cold as the Frostland, but it feels like the perfect moment to look back at the most important moments of last year and step into 2026 with even more heat in our Generators.
Artbook and Anthology Kickstarter Campaign
Last year, we launched our very first Kickstarter campaign for the Frostpunk Artbook and Anthology, and we can proudly call it a success. Over 3,500 backers trusted us, and you fully funded it in just a couple of minutes! Thank you so much for making this possible.
Since its release in 2018, Frostpunk has captivated millions of players worldwide. The story of humanity’s struggle against an icy apocalypse inspired us not only to create a sequel, but also to expand the rich lore of the Frostpunk universe.
After the success of the Polish language edition of the book, and many internal discussions, we decided that Kickstarter was the best way to share this project with a wider audience. It also gave us the opportunity to add exclusive items and keep full creative control over a franchise that is very close to our hearts, while making it accessible to fans around the world.

Free Major Content Update
Alongside numerous playtests and patches throughout 2025, we released a very well received Free Major Content Update back in May. It introduced a wealth of new content, including new heat mechanics, a brand new map for Utopia Mode, and challenges with new quests and storylines.
Thank you for all your reviews and comments. They are incredibly important to us and help shape Frostpunk 2 around your needs and expectations, so don’t hesitate to leave them if you haven't done so yet!
Patch 1.4 - Controller Support and Console Launch
On September 18th we were celebrating the console release of Frostpunk 2! But PC citizens were not forgotten on this day. We released a Patch 1.4 bringing full controller support and improved UI. We’ve created the gamepad experience for Frostpunk 2 based on feedback from the first installment. Our goal was to make it as intuitive as possible, letting you make crucial decisions with just a single tilt of the thumbstick. And now citizens from all major platforms can enjoy the Frostpunk 2 experience, which really makes us proud.
Modding Contest
The Frostpunk modding community has continued to grow since the game’s release, and seeing your creativity reshape the world of Frostpunk fills Steward with pride.
That is why we organized the Frostpunk 2 Modding Contest. New buildings, new laws, and even multiplayer concepts showed just how far the community can push the game. We are incredibly happy to have our modders and their passion on board.
You can check out the winners in a special trailer, which we have prepared just for this occasion.
Frostpunk 1886 Reveal
Many of you waited for this moment just as eagerly as we did. Frostpunk 1886, a reimagined version of the original Frostpunk, is planned to launch in 2027.
Our goal is to expand upon the original experience with improved visuals, higher resolution, and all the possibilities that Unreal Engine offers. It will serve as a great entry point for newcomers, while also giving longtime fans a reason to
