Frost Survival VR changes
Hey there, Survivalists!
Today, we wanted to take a moment to talk about the next update coming to Frost Survival VR and give you a clearer look at what we’ve been working on behind the scenes. That said, let’s cut to the chase. The spoken update focuses on three main goals:
giving players more control over the world around them and their playstyle,
adding more atmosphere to the world,
and improving overall quality of life.
While this isn’t a massive overhaul, it’s an important step forward that makes the game more flexible, immersive, and more comfortable to play. These changes also improve replayability, giving you new ways to experience a fresh adventure.
The new way to start your adventure - Custom Mode
This is the biggest gameplay-related addition in the update. Based on your suggestions, requests and ideas, we’re introducing Custom Mode - a new way to play the game that lets you adjust, change or even completely disable many of the core mechanics.
Perhaps you might have thought to yourself, "I like Frost Survival VR, but the temperature drops too quickly for my taste" or "I'd rather explore than worry about my character’s sanity." Well, now that won’t be a case, because you’ll be able to tweak things like:
Temperature and sanity systems
How quickly player needs deplete
Friendly fire
Fire fuel consumption rate
And more survival-related settings
The goal is to give you control over the experience. You can push the game toward a hardcore survival challenge or dial things back for a more relaxed, sandbox-style playthrough. Custom Mode is our way of supporting different playstyles without losing the core survival feel.

New Structure: Trash Can
While this one is a smaller feature, we think it will make base management feel better. We’re adding a new Trash Can structure that lets you get rid of unwanted items.
If you’ve ever ended up with piles of useless or outdated gear cluttering your base, this should help. No more excess skins, damaged tools or other annoying stuff lying around!
More Save Slots
We’re increasing the number of save slots from 3 to 6.
This gives you more room to experiment with different runs, difficulties, and Custom Mode setups without having to delete old progress. Whether you like to keep backups, test new ideas, or run multiple playthroughs in parallel, this should make things a lot more convenient.

A New Night Type: Northern Lights
One of the most visible additions is a new night variant featuring northern lights. It adds more visual variety to nighttime while staying true to the game’s cold, harsh atmosphere. The new night type changes the mood of exploration after dark and helps the world feel less repetitive over longer play sessions.
Bug Fixes and Overall Polish
Alongside the new features, we’ve also fixed a number of minor bugs and small issues. These aren’t flashy changes, but they’re important for overall stability and smoothness. Our goal is to keep chipping away at rough edges and make the experience more solid and reliable with each update. Thanks to the Patch, longer runs and worlds filled with awesome bases and items should run much more smoothly.

The Custom Mode update is coming really soon, so stay tuned! As always, thank you for playing Frost Survival VR and for all the feedback you’ve been sending in. It genuinely helps guide what we prioritize and how the game continues to evolve.
Hang in there, Survivalists!
