changed2. Action PointsWant to move four times in one turn? Or fire four shots at the enemy? Go for it. You’re free to combine movement and attacks however the situation demands. Just keep in mind that some actions — like activating turrets or searching containers — cost more than one Action Point, so plan your turns carefully.
changed3. Unique SkillsRunning into battle without understanding your squad’s strengths is usually a bad idea. Alongside basic movement, melee, and ranged attacks, every character has unique abilities that define their role on the battlefield.
changed4. AdrenalineYour characters gain Adrenaline by defeating enemies, using abilities, and taking damage.
added5. Talents and SkillsThe Frontier is unforgiving, and survival means constantly improving your crew. Don’t forget to check your characters’ talent trees to unlock upgrades for existing skills and gain entirely new abilities.

1. Nodes

Before making your first move, take a good look at the battlefield. Pay attention to the routes available to both your squad and the enemy, and use the environment to your advantage.

Nodes marked with a shield icon provide cover, making enemies less likely to hit you. Nodes marked with a magnifying glass contain valuable loot. On the Frontier, extra supplies are always worth grabbing.

2. Action Points

Mercenaries on the Frontier need to adapt fast. Every character has a pool of Action Points that can be spent however you like.

Want to move four times in one turn? Or fire four shots at the enemy? Go for it. You’re free to combine movement and attacks however the situation demands. Just keep in mind that some actions — like activating turrets or searching containers — cost more than one Action Point, so plan your turns carefully.

3. Unique Skills

Running into battle without understanding your squad’s strengths is usually a bad idea. Alongside basic movement, melee, and ranged attacks, every character has unique abilities that define their role on the battlefield.

Need precise long-range fire? Place Alice in cover and let her pick enemies off from a safe distance. Want to wipe out a group of enemies at once? Rob is more than happy to charge straight into the fight and smash through multiple opponents in melee combat.

4. Adrenaline

Your characters gain Adrenaline by defeating enemies, using abilities, and taking damage.

Once the Adrenaline bar is full, powerful special abilities become available. Used at the right moment, they can completely turn the tide of battle.

5. Talents and Skills

The Frontier is unforgiving, and survival means constantly improving your crew. Don’t forget to check your characters’ talent trees to unlock upgrades for existing skills and gain entirely new abilities.

6. Equipment

The right gear can make all the difference. Heading into a mission without enough grenades, medkits, or at least one revival kit is a great way to get your squad killed.

Your mercenaries can handle a lot, but sometimes a well-timed grenade is more effective than several perfectly aimed shots.

We hope these recommendations help you build your fortune or uncover the Frontier’s darkest secrets. Don’t forget to join the playtest and put everything you’ve learned into practice.

May luck and cold calculation always stay on your side!
