The challenges of voice acting

Hello Freshmen,

Many of you have been asking about the voice acting in Season 3, so I'll be updating you.

In seasons 1 and 2 we had a system, which is being reworked to overcome some obstacles.

Challenge 1: Taking care not to make the story too rigid.

During the development of Season 2, we received feedback that the story was poor. And this happened in part because of the stiffness that occurs after a scene receives voice acting. The scriptwriting team refuses to:

• Review the bad scenes and dialogue, since we already paid for them to be dubbed.

• Changing scenes at the last minute is not feasible, as dubbing at the last minute is unfeasible.

The result was that the Season 2 storyline became rigid, as any changes to the story would be very costly to re-record the dialogue. And so it ended up worse than Season 1. To recap, Season 1 was made entirely without dubbing, and we only added dubbing a year after its release. And I remember that when we did that, we changed several English texts, and I saw a lot of feedback saying that the text was worse.

So we had to abandon the old work methodology and start a new one that is still in progress.

Challenge 2: Increase productivity by 50 times.

While in Season 2 we were writing 500 words per week, in Season 3 we are writing 12,500 words per week.

With this change alone, voice productivity will need to increase 25 times.

But since we've already used half the development time, the actresses will have to do 100% of the game in 50% of the time.

Therefore, this doubles the load once again, bringing the total to 25,000 words to be voiced per week.

Challenge 3: The actresses are freelancers and work on multiple projects.

Some actresses are professionals and work with precise deadlines and great efficiency. Other actresses, however, have a slower pace and may not be able to meet the deadlines we set.

By demanding 50 times greater productivity, I fear some will be late. And perhaps some of the actresses need to be replaced. And usually the community cries and panics when we have to replace even one actress due to delays.

We continue the work doing the best we can.

We have 2 team members working on one problem at a time, but since the game's development is accelerating, there are no guarantees that we'll be able to dub everything in time.

From today until the full Season 3 launch, the team has 70 working days on Season 3 (after accounting for holidays and vacations). And the game is projected to have 260,000 words.

But in the long run, I have faith that the team will succeed, even if the voices are only ready after the launch.
