Launching the game

If your game doesn't start up (and it closes immediately again), you can try to using a different Proton version: 6.3-8

  1. Open your game settings from the Steam launcher

  2. Go to compatibility

  3. Check the Checkbox "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool"

  4. Select Proton 6.3-8 from the list

My saves from the demo are gone!

Unfortunately this is due to the folder structure on Proton being different than Windows, but your saves aren't lost. We are working on a solution to automatically copy these files over, but for now you have to do it manually:

First, here is how to get to your files on Steam Deck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqYgPf4u2yc

  1. Close the game.

  2. Go to: /home/[yourusername]/.local/share/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3247140/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/appdata/Roaming/

  3. Copy the whole frameland folder (this is the folder holding your demo saves)

  4. Go to: /home/[yourusername]/.local/share/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2137750/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/appdata/Roaming/ (the difference here is just the end of the number: 2137750 instead of 3247140)

  5. Careful! If there already exists a frameland folder here, it means you already saved settings or have a savegame from the full version. Instead of deleting it, rename it to frameland2 or something, just in case.

  6. Paste the folder in here If there already exists a frameland folder, overwrite it (see above point to not lose data)

  7. Restart the game. Your savefiles and settings should all be restored from the demo.

If this doesn't work for you, here are a few more options:

  • Here is a save file that is at the end of the demo: Savefile (there will hardly be any differences unless you spent hours grinding). Just copy it to the same location from above (step 4): /home/[yourusername]/.local/share/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2137750/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/appdata/Roaming/frameland
