Repeated intro
Hey everyone, Peter here. I have decided to move the devlogs here instead of my personal blog . This is in fact the sixth devlog i'm posting, but the first one here on Steam! :D
What changed
- Compatibility
- Balance
- Gameplay
Since we already have a demo out and you guys can try the game I won't focus as much on stuff that's already done. Rather I want to mention a couple of things that people have asked about:
Controller support
I have been toying with the idea to support controllers for some time and now that many requested it I have decided to implement it. If everything goes according to plan you will be able to play the game using a controller and only need the mouse for menu and settings. Unfortunatelly supporting a controller fully would be quite hard to do at this point and I don't think I have the time to do that right now.
Game length
Lots of you asked about how long the game will be. This is a tough question - from my testing it looks like to be somewhere between 4-6 hours so far for a first playthrough. If you ignore most of the secrets and achievements and play on EASY difficulty it could be even less than that, but also much more on HARD and going for a full completion. Keep in mind though that this is a very rough estimate.
Difficulty balancing
Another tough one. A couple people complained about the difficulty, especially the train puzzle in the demo. I realized its a bit too punishing - some of you had to really "time your moves" perfectly. I pushed an update a couple of days ago that fixes this hopefully. This also alerted me to the fact that the game might be a bit too hard in the beginning so I'm spending some time now to revise the first two chapters and balance the difficulty better.
Other
Finally I want to talk about the trailer. Currently the one we have is a bit... bad. So I've been thinking of making a new one, but... its not really my cup of tea. Ok ok I suck at making trailers. Thats why I decided to let someone more skilled handle it. Hopefully I find the right person soon and we will get a juicy trailer. Once I have more info to share about that I will let you all know.
Peter
