addedWhen we first started working on the next iteration of Forty-Five, we believed that it would be a massive update that would introduce new content to the game. In hindsight, massive was perhaps an understatement. Over the last year, Forty-Five has grown and evolved into something far larger than we had initially imagined, and it all started with Crested Fox becoming a co-developer on the project.
addedSo, who are Crested Fox? Like us, they are a student founded game studio, and theyʼve been helping us turn Forty-Five into the best version of itself. With their help, the original scope of the game has expanded as we now have the resources to do many of the things we could not do alone. As some of you may have noticed from the header, this includes a brand-new art style created by our new dedicated art team!
addedForty-Five: Reloaded is a remake of the current version of Forty-Five with both new additions as well as reworks of original content.
addedAs mentioned earlier, one of the biggest changes is the brand-new art style! Our team has been hard at work building a unique visual style for Forty-Five. We wanted to create a look that is both striking and accessible, while not being in the way of the gameplay itself; and while it wasnʼt easy, we like to think weʼve accomplished that. Let us know what you think of the new look!
addedHowever, donʼt let the amazing art distract you from the new gameplay changes! We have been working on new stuff to shoot, new stuff to shoot at, new stuff that helps your shooting and stuff you add to the stuff you shoot. Forty-Five: Reloaded will not only include changes to the core gameplay loop but also add entirely new mechanics and systems.
changedThe biggest of these changes is that the game will now be split into two playable modes, Constructed and Limited . While weʼre not ready to share how these modes differ, weʼre sure some of you will have theories based on the names alone. Other changes will include new ways to empower your deck, a reworked map traversal system, and a brand-new difficulty system so you can see how well your decks hold up under stress!

Howdy Outlaws, long time no see! We thank you for your patience over the past year while weʼve been figuring out where to take Forty-Five. We know youʼve all been waiting for an update from us, and while it has taken some time, weʼre finally ready to reveal more about the future of our game!

When we first started working on the next iteration of Forty-Five, we believed that it would be a massive update that would introduce new content to the game. In hindsight, massive was perhaps an understatement. With their help, the original scope of the game has expanded as we now have the resources to do many of the things we could not do alone. As some of you may have noticed from the header, this includes a brand-new art style created by our new dedicated art team!

However, weʼre still extremely proud of the current version of Forty-Five live on steam and it holds a significant place in our hearts. We would like to preserve the work of everyone who has worked on this version, while giving the expanded team their own place to shine. As such, we have made the decision to create Forty-Five: Reloaded!

Forty-Five: Reloaded is a remake of the current version of Forty-Five with both new additions as well as reworks of original content.

As mentioned earlier, one of the biggest changes is the brand-new art style! Our team has been hard at work building a unique visual style for Forty-Five. Forty-Five: Reloaded is a massive undertaking, and even with a bunch of new content already developed, itʼll take some time to complete. Since weʼre an unfunded student team, it is hard to give exact dates but as of now, weʼre hoping to release a demo sometime in the second half of this year.

In the meantime, weʼll continue to give updates as frequently as possible. Make sure youʼre in the community discord and following our social media to stay up to date on the development of Forty-Five: Reloaded.

Thank you for your continued support, Microwave Studios & Crested Fox
