changedController SupportThe game has controller support, but it's been a bit spotty. We recommend using a mouse and keyboard.
changedWill These Be Fixed? We want to shoot straight here. Unfortunately, the answer is most likely no. Forkdrift was developed by a team of students. While it is possible that some will work on a patch in their free time, we can't make any guarantees. We know this will be disappointing for those of you struggling with these and other issues.
changedWill These Be Fixed? We also would like to say thank you to the more than 24,000 players who have downloaded and tried Forkdrift. This game has far exceeded our expectations of release and we want to thank you all for making that happen.
addedWill These Be Fixed? As a thank you, use the code "Sawmill" in the nickname section to unlock a special new extra! This only needs to be entered once for the extra to be permanently unlocked, after which you can change your nickname to whatever you prefer.

Introduction

This announcement is to clarify some things that we have done a poor job explaining or representing so far, and to address some known issues with the game.

Regions, Connectivity Issues and Using a VPN

Right now the game auto-selects your region based on where it thinks you are. This obviously poses some challenges when it comes to playing with friends from around the world. Unfortunately, the only way to accomplish this currently is to use a VPN to play. There is a list of regions here.

It is also possible for the game to select the wrong region. For example, you want to play with someone from the same household as you, but you can't see each other's lobbies. The game has most likely picked the wrong region for one of you. In this case, you will also need to use a VPN.

Lobbies

Lobbies are player-hosted and are only visible by region. This means that if you don't see any lobbies after waiting awhile, there may not be anyone playing in your region. Lobbies also cannot be joined once they are in progress. So if you host a lobby, it may be best to hang out in the lobby for a minute or two to allow people to join!

Delivery Mode

A lot of people have just been leaving the game when they get flipped in Delivery Mode.

Press R to respawn

There is no automatic respawn in Delivery. This is a feature, it allows you to continue to block the opponent or to quickly return to your base, or to continue to protect your box even while flipped.

One more time, its R to respawn

Explanations for both game-modes can be found in the "Controls" menu.

Controller Support

The game has controller support, but it's been a bit spotty. We recommend using a mouse and keyboard.

Thank you all for playing Forkdrift
