Greetings scientists,
We're excited to announce that today marks the launch of The Final Echoes Update, the third and final instalment in our major free update series, alongside the official release of the game on XBOX Series X|S! And better yet, XBOX Play Anywhere is fully supported! As previously stated in the launches of Echoes Part 1 and Part 2, the focus of the Echoes Updates is to introduce greater variety to the existing world of Forever Skies and enhance the exploration based on your feedback. Saves
It’s not necessary to start a fresh save with this update. We have implemented a unique quest to get existing saves up to speed with the basics of the new systems. However, we would recommend starting a new save in order for you to get the full experience of The Final Echoes.
Our Latest Trailer(s)
To mark the release of Final Echoes, we have created not one, but TWO new trailers. We have a new Gameplay Trailer, which showcases all the new features we have added to the game across all 3 parts of Echoes. But in addition, we have also finally created an official Cinematic Trailer, which takes a closer look at the events that precede the start of the game…
What’s New In The Final Echoes?
As we have mentioned in our previous blogs, The Final Echoes includes a whole bunch of new content, alongside improvements to some systems and QOL additions. Steam post image Airship Electricity System - One of the major additions is the new Airship Electricity System. Players now create power for their base via Generators. Your airship starts with a basic amount of power, 200 units. As your Airship expands and you discover new technology for your mobile base, you will need to create more and more power to use these devices. You will discover the Tier 1 Generator early on in your playthrough at a new location called The Thunderhead Terminal. But as you advance, you will need to upgrade it. The Airship Electricity System also ties into the next item on our list… Steam post image Airship Damage Overhaul - Airship damage is more meaningful now than before. Not managing your airship's power correctly or getting hit by lightning storms while unprotected can lead to parts of your airship being destroyed and losing your valuable devices. We published an Electricity & Damage System Blog a few weeks back, which you should check out if you haven’t already, to get to grips with these new features. Steam post image New Combat Encounters - A new threat has emerged above the dust with The Final Echoes Update. As you scavenge Points of Interest, you may attract the attention of hostile Drones. Units that were originally created to help humanity build, following the aftermath of the collapse. These once-helpful machines have now turned hostile to anyone looking to scavenge the ruins they helped create. You will encounter both ground-based and airborne Drone variants, each presenting a new challenge as you venture across the world. Steam post image 6 New Side Quests - Side quests were originally introduced with Echoes Part 1. Not only do they give the player additional lore into what life was like on Earth before your arrival, but they also reward you with useful tools, technology and cool new Airship decor items too. The Final Echoes is no different and includes 6 new side quests for players to complete. Bringing the games total side quests count up to 19 quests in total. Steam post image Custom Difficulty Mode - Another new addition to the game is our new Custom Difficulty Mode. This is something the community have been asking for, for a long time. And now that more hostiles have been added to the game, it makes sense now more than ever to finally add it. Adjust the rates at which food, water, energy and oxygen drop individually, or turn them off altogether. We published a Custom Difficulty Blog last week, which you can check out if you haven’t done so already. Steam post image New Locations & Landmarks - The Radio Towers in the New Nature biome (biome 3) have been updated, much like they were in biomes 1 and 2 in the previous Echoes instalments, now making all 3 types (Communication Point, Desolate Tower and Reclaimed Tower) all visually distinct from one another. We have also added 3 new unique landmarks with this update. Meaning there are now a total of 15 new landmarks in the game added through the Echoes series. Steam post image New Devices & Decor - Some of the new side quests will lead to new cool decor items, such as artefacts and Airship paint skins, but that's not all. In addition to all the new devices we mentioned earlier, players will now be able to discover a Weather Control Device! This was briefly seen during the Spring Event, but players can now discover it’s wreck at the Workshop POI. Install this on your airship, and you can change the weather in an instant. It runs on Crystals and is super useful, especially if you require lightning to put your airship into surplus mode! In addition to all of the above content, Forever Skies Steam Cards, emojis, backgrounds and badges are now available to collect and customize your Steam profile with. Enjoy! So much has been added to the game across The Echoes Series. As we mentioned at the start of the blog, check out our new official Gameplay Trailer, which covers (almost) everything we have added to the game since November 2025.
The full patchnotes can be found at the bottom of this blog, like usual, so please check them out.

Click here for Known Issues ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And with that, the Echoes Series is complete! A reminder, this update might be called The Final Echoes, but it does not mean this is the final update. We will share more of our future plans at a later date, but for now, please enjoy this new version of Forever Skies that we feel is much closer to the version of the game we envisioned during early development. None of this would have happened without your feedback, so thank you for always being honest with us. You have helped us make the game bigger and hopefully better. We know that many of you have held off from trying Echoes Part 1 and Part 2 because you wanted to experience Echoes in its entirety. If you are one of those people, we hope it was worth the wait and that you love the new additions. Have a great week, scientists! Team FFH
