Food Processing Simulator changes
Hi everyone, 😄
Thank you very much for all the support, reports, and feedback. We’ve been closely tracking two big themes from the community: requests for more factory space, and requests for better efficiency tools to reduce bottlenecks in larger setups.
For expansion, we have noted the demand for a bigger area, but we cannot promise it in the near term because we need to prioritize optimization first. We do not want to ship a larger space if it makes the game feel laggy or uncomfortable to play.
For efficiency, we agree that the current solutions are still incomplete. This update delivers one important piece we can ship now, while several other efficiency improvements (including new machines and broader pipeline tools) are still in the planning and design phase.
With that context, this week’s update focuses on improving throughput by introducing upgrades for conveyors and utility machines, so you can scale production without constantly redesigning your entire layout.
Main Update
1. Upgradeable Conveyors and Utility Machines
Based on community feedback about bottlenecks, especially in longer conveyor setups where throughput can feel slower as the pipeline grows, we are introducing upgrades for conveyors and utility machines.
With this update:
Conveyors can be upgraded to increase movement speed.
Utility machines such as Merge, Splitter, and Filter can also be upgraded to increase their processing speed.
There will be level indicator in machine body for each machine that available to upgrade.
Each upgrade requires:
A specific cost, and
A minimum level requirement
The goal of this system is to give players a new way to fight bottlenecks by using the conveyors and utility machines. By investing in upgrades, you can build higher throughput lines, keep items flowing smoothly across long routes, and scale production more efficiently as your factory becomes more complex.
Improvements
1. Unified Upgrade Input (Press C) and Process
We updated the upgrade interaction so that Press C is now used consistently as the upgrade input and also when you are doing upgrade the system will check whether you can upgrade to the highest available by Tier or Reputation Level and also the money you currently have. This also applies to Vendor Truck capacity upgrades, so the upgrade button and process is now unified across different upgrade systems.
2. Multi-Ingredient Machine Flow Visual Update
We improved the visual machine flow guidance for multi-ingredient products.
The flow UI now includes a tab-based view that clearly explains that different ingredients require separate lines.
This is intended to reduce confusion and answer common player questions about how to properly build and route multi-ingredient production.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the grade display for Sachet and Pouch products could be missing or appear hidden.
Fixed an issue where some machines or commodity could occasionally disappear when viewed from certain distances.
- Potential FixAddressed an issue where items could suddenly float or drift toward machines unexpectedly.
Once again, thank you very much for your support and feedback. If you encounter any issues with the new upgrade system, conveyor speed upgrades, or utility upgrades, please report them through the in-game Bug Report Menu and/or the Steam Discussions so we can investigate quickly.
See you in the next update! 🥗🚚
