Following Seas changes
Fixes:
Fixed map being unusable on ultrawide monitors.
Fixed map pan controls reversing on certain zoom levels on certain resolutions.
Fixed game defaulting to minimum supported resolution on install. Should now default to current monitor resolution.
*NOTE* If your game opens in an unusable resolution -- you will need to reset the settings for the above fix to take effect. To resolve this, delete the settings file located (on Windows) at:
C://Users/You/AppData/LocalLow/Whipstaff Games/Following Seas/
Changes:
Player can no longer use the lantern (or any other tools) underwater...
Decoupled boom and gaff on the gaff rig. Instead I've added vang lines for finer control over the sail twist. (Essentially fully separate control lines to the boom and gaff, allowing different position and tautness for both.
Feedback on this is welcome - as I'm not particularly versed in how exactly they are handled. If this method is preferred, I will look into a modified form of this for the junks as well, as I understand it would be preferred to keep the sails more rigid.
Updated the credits panel with new Creative Commons Attribution entries tied to some of the new audio effects.
Significantly decreased the cost of passing time, particularly on smaller ships.
New content:
Player tools now includes a matchlock. Implementation is partial at this point. Some islands have goats which can be shot for provisions, but currently no powder/shot is needed, and the weapon has no effect on other objects. Controls are mostly standard fps. Left click will cock the gun, or fire (while aimed) if already cocked. Right click will aim. 'r' will reload. (Bring a snack it'll take a while.)
Lantern has added effects and various physics changes.
Some reworks to the quadrant to improve positioning. (I'm aware of the clipping issue with the angle needle, working on it.)
Player now has hands while using some tools. Implementation of this will continue over time. My animation skills aren't super strong, so it's a bit stiff, but hopefully improves the sense of presence in the game.
Currently there are two hand options -- which can be selected to your preference from the option panel. There will likely be more in the future.
Note that upon changing selected hands - you will need to reload or load from the menu for the change to take effect.
Added goats. Behavior is limited at this point, a generalized creature controller is in progress. For now they will wander in sombre silence until you smother their spark of life in chains. They are present currently on Broken Spine and Waypoint Isle. They are fairly small and population is sparse -- so if you are having trouble finding them on Waypoint, most congregate in the broad central plateau to the Southeast of the little building atop the mountain.
Upon death interact with the body to convert to a provisions container, which can then be loaded in the same manner as other provisions.
Further details added to Saettia cannons (still cosmetic and under construction -- consider as testing.) 'b' will open gunports - and n/m will fire port/sb respectively.
