FLY GUYS changes
Hello all Fly Guys, Gals, and Pals!
Hope everyone has been doing well as the weather gets warmer. The FLY GUYS team have been cooking HARD on this game, and we have a lot of fun things to show you guys!
As a quick TLDR, here's some of our major milestones since last update:
FLY GUYS at PAX East 2026!
ENTIRE game's environments have been grayboxed.
Roosthill Farms almost complete!
New Characters! Crane Guy, Crane Gal, Dodo, Mallow, Jett, and the Phoenix.
New Minigames! A 'Simon Says' type rhythm minigame, and an Overcooked-style food ordering minigame.
Elemental Isles Assets being worked on!
New Menu Backgrounds!
And many, many more!
FLY GUYS at PAX East 2026!
During the last week of March, the FLY GUYS team members went to PAX East to network and get the game out to more people! Our result? We got over 220 more wishlists on our game! Steam post image
Roosthill Farms in Progress!
Roosthill Farms is almost asset complete! This island has been a fun one to work on. The entire island is built on a single terrain, with rolling hills and winding paths. One thing I(Ryan) did was add momentum to when Fly Guy/Gal goes up and down slopes when walking, and it was inspired by the level design on this island! Shoutout to Shari, Nick F, Nick S, Austen, and Kamron for all their hard work making this island come alive! (Visuals not final.)
Future Islands Now Grayboxed!
Our future islands, Elemental Isles, and Meadowroot Glen, are now grayboxed! With those two, all EIGHT islands in the game are now planned out and made, which is a huge milestone for our team. Much like Roosthill Farms, Birdhatten, all the ones that came before, we will be replacing these grayboxed models with full assets with textures and detail, so stayed tuned for a future update in regards to these islands.

New Challenges!
We have made two new challenge types since we have last updated.
One challenge is called the Bird Race Challenge. In this one, you will be racing against a bird to the end goal, flying only!

Additionally, there is now the Treasure Hunting challenge, where there will be a set radius around the map where you can find the hidden treasure, and you have a hot/cold indicator above you!
New Characters!
The Archipelago's cast continues to expand, and previous characters that had concept art shown now have finished models! Shoutout to Kamron, and Shari for all their hard work on these amazing models from my(Ryan) concept art!
Crane Guy - The main male NPC's on Elemental Isles.
Crane Gal (Textures not Complete) - The main female NPC's on Elemental Isles.
Dodo- All the feathers across The Archipelago you will collect are for the last living Dodo in the world. Each 100 feathers on each island you get will slowly bring all of his body's feathers back together! Help out this old geezer!
The Phoenix - The strong, paternal protector of The Archipelago. I will keep his role in this story a secret for now!
Mallow - The sweet maternal protector of The Archipelago. I will keep her role in the story a secret as well for now!
Upcoming characters!
While these characters do not have models yet, they have concept art now, and are planning to be made into 3D models and animated in game!
Mayor Eagleton - The strong, confident, smug Mayor of Birdhatten. When his approval rating drops below 100% for the first time in years, he will need your help getting it back up!
Jett the Blue Jay - This competitive rascal is a rival to Fly Guy/Fly Gal! He will be the one you do many race challenges against across the Archipelago.
Madame Clucksworth - The lovely, sweet, and wise leader of Roosthill Farms. When you collect all the eggs on that island, there will be a harvest festival she runs!
Paula the Pelican - This fish-obsessed Pelican will tell you ALL about the fishing mechanic in the game, and will give you rewards for catching every fish on each island!
New Minigames!
Our awesome minigame programmer Kyle has been working hard on the Phoenix Jungle's special minigame, as well as Birdhatten's.
For the Phoenix Jungle, there will be a 'Simon Says'-esque rhythm minigame where you have to play each instrument in the order they're played. They get faster and faster, so stay on your toes!
For Birdhatten, there will be a Overcooked-style food ordering minigame, where you have to make different fast food items for the hungry Pigeons in Birdhatten. Worm Express will never have a better worker!
For Roosthill Farms, we are planning on having two minigames made for it. One of them will be a fruit sorting minigame, where different fruit will come down from a funnel, and you'll need to sort them in the correct baskets before they rot. Another one is an apple bucking minigame, where a big Apple tree will be at the center, and you will be rushing around trying to pick them up in a big basket before they land on the ground!
Elemental Isles Assets in Progress!
Our awesome 3D artists Austen and Nick F have been cooking on the main assets of Elemental Isles!
Austen's been working on the large towers, and the interiors for them too.
Nick F has been working on the homes that the Crane Guys and Crane Gals will live. Pretty neat!
Cutscenes in the Works!
Now that our cutscene system is finally complete, our awesome cinematic director, Nick S., has been working hard on the first cutscene where you meet Carter Shoebilly, and the first cutscene where you meet the Dodo for the first time!
Additionally, our System's programmer Allen has been hard at work making our cutscene system work with the overall game progression. Shoutout to Allen for all the hard work!
New Menu Backgrounds!
Our awesome VFX artist Hunter has been working to add more polished, dynamic menu backgrounds to FLY GUYS. The file select menu now has a unique background, so does the fishing menu, as well as the guidebook!

Some new Birdhatten fish, thanks to Shari for the amazing work!
Update on Console Development
We have approved for both Xbox and PlayStation, and have recieved dev kits! However Nintendo still hasn't approved of our team quite yet. I have heard from the grapevine it might be because we are new developers without a shipped title, so this may mean that the Nintendo Switch version of this game might have to wait until after we ship on PC, Mac, Xbox, and PlayStation. Stay tuned for future developments!
Custom Pal Backers
Recently, we have been in touch with our 1,000$ Custom Pal backers to begin making their custom characters in the game, starting with the concept art!
Future Plans
Some of our future milestones for the game will be:
Completing all Bone Dry Desert cutscenes.
Completing all FrostBelly cutscenes.
Creating 3D models for new characters - Mayor Eagleton, Paula the Pelican, and Jett the Blue Jay.
Roosthill Farms being Asset Complete
Elemental Isles being asset Complete.
Roosthill Farms and Elemental Isles Minigames.
More customization items!

Through all the positivity, care, and love you all have brought to this community, this game is becoming better and better every day, and we wouldn't be here without all of you wonderful people's support!
