Floors of Fate Devlog #1: Deep into the 50 Floors & Ancient Origins
Hello everyone! It’s been about two and a half weeks since the Floors of Fate Steam page went live. I’m Emre, the solo developer behind this project, and I’m beyond excited to welcome you to the first ever developer update!
What is Floors of Fate?
Floors of Fate is a dark fantasy ARPG where you must conquer a 50-story tower, each floor handcrafted with unique challenges. My goal is to blend high-stakes combat with a deep, atmospheric world.
Blending Dark Fantasy with Ancient Heritage
One of the most unique aspects of this game is its soul. While it fits the "Dark Fantasy" aesthetic, the lore is deeply rooted in Ancient Turkic mythology. From boss names inspired by old legends to UI elements featuring Yörük (nomadic) motifs, I want to offer a cultural texture that feels both fresh and haunting.
The Tech Behind the Shadow
Built with the Godot Engine, I’m currently focusing on "game feel" and visual fidelity. I’ve been spending a lot of time on custom shaders—like the sand-soldier effects and dynamic fire—to ensure that every floor feels like a living, breathing nightmare.
